I have a 2022 YZ250f that for the most part runs ok with stock ECU (bike has power flow intake and PC slip on) I bought the TD Vortex dual injection. It's never really worked well with the Vortex so i've been racing with stock ECU. I did send the Vortex back to TD and they said it's ok. So I'm digging into the bike a bit.
What should the closed throttle TPS voltage be ? I don't have the Yamaha diag tool to check or set it up. I measure .44v closed and 3.5v WOT. Does this seem like it's in the range ?
Did you do the part where you hold the kill switch and crank the bike with the throttle closed for 10 seconds then the same thing with the throttle 100% open?
When I put the dual injection on my 21 yz250f, I had to do it twice for it to work. Then ran mint.
Yeh, the instructions say to hold for 3sec closed and WO. Did you notice much of a difference when u installed it ?? At this point i've checked fuel pump and TPS and both seem to be ok and bike runs well with stock ECU. Thanks for replying
Huge difference. Bike has better roll on in 3rd gear and strong over rev. Bike sounds like a star bike on the limiter.
You have everything hooked up? Like the cable going from the ecu to the 2nd injector right?
Ok, thanks - yeh cable to 2nd injector is connected - the injector sprays fuel. Guess I'll stick with it and try to determine what's up with it. It's a stock bike other than Twin Air intake and a PC slip on.......which was mentioned to twisted when i ordered it.
Another goofy question. My stock ECU works better with exhaust insert "IN" yours ?

I m running the dual injector kit from TD with the RP throttle body and vortex ecu, bike runs awesome from first start.
Keep pushing to solve your issue, the kit is really good.
What fuel are you running? And what is the Vortex mapped for?
What do you classify as not working well?
Kit including ecu was a complete package from TD.
I’m running 80% premium pump fuel and 20% VP C12……..with oem piston.
TD said that I can use their Maps with this fuel mix safely……so far bike is running great.
Running pump and mapped for pump.
I bought the whole deal a few years back - it never really worked. Bike just seems confused and inconstant with lack of power, backfires etc. When i installed it the bike was a mess and gutless. (feels super lean) I'll adjust the low-mid-high to richen it up and seems to improve and then will act up again.......so i'll return to base settings (5,5,5) and it gets better which doesn't make sense when it wouldn't run at these settings 10 mins prior. When i set the TPS closed and WOT it just seems to move the base again. Thanks for the help and i apologize for crappy explanation - would be easier to explain if it was just one symptom but it's not.
What did TD have to say ?
With backfires its common to be related to electrical could be sparkplug boot, plug, coil, or harness Check these
Install the kit on another bike or your next YZ250F! Solved
LOL, I'm a VET but that much of a Vet lol. $$
Tell ya what I can do ya for my friend. There she sits, my 50hr 22. Just waiting to rip a dual injector kit. Just sayin', from one Vet to another.
