2025 Honda CRF250R Bog/Pop Issue

Recently on my new 2025 CRF250F towards the end of my last two practice days, I have experienced a loss in power and a poping sound when I have blipped the throttle off of a lip. It’s causing the bike to dive and it has ended my practice days for fear of the bike cutting off completely.

After it happens, if I try to rev the bike it will do a mixture of pops and bogs and it feels low on power but if I turn the bike off and try to ride again, the problem seems to go away.

We have checked the spark plug and put dielectric grease on all connections but without knowing the exact issue I am not confident in riding if it is possible that the issue with persist.

If anyone is experiencing the same sort of issues on the new 2025’s or if anyone has any suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

93.  It happened a couple weeks ago at the end of the day.  The gas that day was bought from a station we rarely use, we drained the gas and replaced plug.  Next two rides no issues.  Well last Sunday it did it again last session.  When he chops the throttle and gets back on it pops and gurgles.  Put it in the stand for a couple minutes then rode through the pits with no problems.  Didn’t go on track for safety reasons. We’ve put dielectric grease on all the connections going to look at fuel pump next.

I am dealing with this issue as well! I just sent my ECU to Tokyo Mods for Reflash. It seems that your bike and mine came from the factory running lean. Why? Maybe it was to pass fuel emissions? WHO KNOWS.

It has been nothing short of frustrating and missed ride days plus not feeling safe on the bike. HOPING and EXPECTING te reflash to take care of it! Ill let you know!

Did you ever get this issue resolved on your bike? Today was the first ride on my 2026 CRF250RX and I had the exact same symptoms that you described. Half way through my third moto the bike started popping on decel and what seemed like a loss of power when accelerating. It did this for about 3 laps and then seemed to run fine again. I rode around in an open field to see if I could replicate this and could not make it happen again.

UPDATE - I wanted to try the simple things first so I drained the gas from the fuel tank and got some new gas from a different store. Also replaced the spark plug while I had the tank off but it looked great and don’t think that was causing an issue.

Today I raced a 2.5 hour cross country race and the bike ran amazing. No problems what so ever. For now I’m going to assume the decel popping and bogging was caused from poor quality fuel.
