Just bought a new toy. It's a YZ465, that has a G model fresh motor with a H swingarm and shock. The forks are off a '83 490. Also has a new '19 excel rear with Buchannon spokes. After riding Rio Sunday on the '77 Montesa VB360 I remembered how much I really enjoy the big-bores. Also I have a very sweet '86 CR250 for sell if anyone is looking for one in the new AHRMA Innovation class.

Cool bike. I remember watching Kirk Spencer and his YZ465 crush everyone in the Pro class at the Texas Series back in '81.

You should have bought my restored 1977 YZ400D instead! Great Histroric class machine. I hate starting YZ465's!

Cool bike but I LOVE my '77 Montesa VB360 for Historic/Evo1/GP1 class. It can be a bear at times to start but if you know the trick on the Monty she usually fires first kick, thankfully as whoever designed the kickstarter on it must have been a sadist

Sorry Rhett,

But I'm calling B.S. on the first kick on the VB360 after last week at Rio!

AFTER we messed with and I richened it up a little ( thanks Rev ! ), it fired 1st kick rest of the day. Following Jared Bates advice and using the Monty trick it will and does. All in all it was a decent shakedown cruise on a bike that hadn't fired in 15+ years. Am I going to have to sic Larry on you now that I have joined the YZ Kamikazee crew ??????

Hey Rhett!

You know that if you have trouble with the 465, there are a few guys that can help you get it started.

I didn't like seeing you overwork your bad hip on the Monty, it was painful & I know that it didn't do you any good.

Just don't let Greg 10 Try, he can't even get my KTM to fire. but he was getting the CR 500 to start? I can't figure that one out?

Yeah Larry will need all the help he can get , now that I got the rear Ohlins fixed, It's so easy to ride fast now & it turns like it should & feels like Greg 10's Maico

Jon- yeah I'm letting it go as just not enough time to ride but when I do find time I'll break out the VB360. The 250 is a great Historic 250 Class bike but I just really like the 360.
