For those that have friction plates fall apart leaving aluminum pieces in the sump, what level of flushing is everyone doing? Complete tear down/rebuild?
how bad did it fall apart? Do you have photos?

Two of the fibers broke into several pcs and the outside of the longer screen was covered in aluminum. They were all contained in the sump and I couldn't find any damage to anything. Looks like the screen caught everything. Oil filter was clean. Oil pump shows no signs of contamination. Flushed it with diesel of few times to get out as much as I can.
Other than the broken plates the only worthwhile pic i have is of the screen, attached below.
Was it due to the clutch failure, or any other reasons?

Ehhhhh. That’s tough. Depends how serious you are. I would say that’s really bad. It gets in all the bearings & oil ports. I’d probably just split the cases to see how bad it is then make a decision. I like peace of mind though. Dirt bikes are way too gnarly & I’m way too invested to take any shortcuts.
If you found all of the broken fibers then I’d say might be fine. but idk man. Keep us posted.
I would do oil changes every ride until you stop seeing stuff on the screen.
