Kimmel's been a politically biased toxic hack for a while now. He went too far by implying the guy who assassinated a conservative political activist was a fellow conservative. His employer did damage control and got rid of him. I'm not sure why your panties are so wadded up over this.

Because he likes stirring shit on the board

The simple reason: It wasn't the president of a country that was behind that arrest. It was a trans-activist (Sophia Brooks) who went to the legal system and claimed that this wasn't "freedom of speech" anymore but that it encouraged people to feel hatred towards them. That is a tiny but important detail, don't you think?!

But censorship on internet is getting worse and worse but that is the what-about-tisme what I called in the first post. The European Union is probably the worst of all. They are thinking about an online digital passport, that you will need to view porn and other 18+ websites. With other words the government wants to know what you like from porn, alcohol, gambling...

Edit: @3 Tres On your list is one voted bill in Canada, one attempt from Sleepy Joe and one poll where they asked the democrats: "Do you want to censorship the social media" in a period where they are getting their ass kicked by Trump on social media and other republican influencers. Off course do they dream about that. But till now is Trump the only one who used his presidential power for such silly things. From taking white house accreditation passes from critical journalists to pushing to fire people who are on TV, using his troll army to target critical people and even giving criticism on award shows. Nothing is too small for this president, everything is a national matter of interest...

Go to Vienna and start an outside demonstration for Nazis....

See how fast u get fucked up.

I've been there....that shit don't fly.

That's censorship .

This public airing of smearing a man is not a right.

Kimmel can still run his schtick, just not on abc/CBS/NBC where I have to see it..

He is really a cruel man, who isn't funny at all.

All the more reason for alternate news sources.

I remember when the news was honest and trustworthy.

Now it's just bullshit left slant.. . And they wonder why viewers leave.

If you're a real Christian like he claimed to be, you can't be against free school meals for example (he was against). We all know the multiple stories in the Bible from Jesus creating from five breads and two fishes, enough food to provide 5000 people (Matteüs 14:13–21).

Kirk opposed the Civil Rights Act, calling it a “huge mistake” and he endorsed the alt-right racist theory of the “great replacement”. That is also why he was demonizing women and couples who chose not having kids. Woman have only one real job and that is to breed. Saying that black people doesn't have the brain power to be taken seriously, that seems hateful. Lets us be honest some of his world views where close to or very extreme and sometimes even vile towards some communities, demographic groups, ...

But all that is being said in the context of freedom of speech. If people weren't happy with something or thought it was racist they could've gone to the legal system with their problem with his takes. Killing someone because he simply hasn't the same view on the world as yourself is unacceptable. The same goes undoubtedly for a president who silence his opposition, by putting pressure on their bosses. It are only weak leaders and spineless people who can't handle opposition and satire on their behave.

Oh the cries over censorship from poor Matti. All because the insult comic Jimmy K decided to go past his normal insult routine and tell outright lies as if they were fact and lost his job. I must not know how to use the search function because I just can't find the thread of Matty defending the insult comic that made a joke about trash & Puerto Rico at the RNC Convention. So when all the libtards were trying to make hay of that, where was poor Matti to defend "free speech"?

Here’s what everyone is missing about the Jimmy Kimmel fiasco.

Kimmel didn’t just tell a bad joke. He spread a disgusting lie — that Charlie was assassinated by MAGA. The message was obvious: Kill a conservative, and we’ll cover for you. We’ll excuse the murder because conservatives don’t deserve to live. Do it again. Kill more. We’ll cheer you on.

That’s not late-night comedy. That’s pure evil.

ABC’s affiliates knew it too. Complaints poured in. Execs told him to apologize. He refused. He bragged he’d double down. That’s why he’s gone.

These networks — ABC, NBC, CBS — rake in taxpayer perks under the excuse of serving the “public good.” They don’t get to weaponize those privileges to smear and endanger people they hate.

Jimmy Kimmel is not the victim here. He’s the liar.

Never forget that.

For Kimmel it’s like being clipped on a forum. If anyone comes out and says something like that, obviously they’ll get clipped. Besides, it was basically his employer that had issues with what he said. I mean cmon, “…got himself killed…you can’t say stuff like that.”

No, it’s not okay to talk like that. Fuck that guy. Never heard of him. See how easy it is? Do I give  fuck if he’s fired for talking that way? Nope. Do I care if he’s left right or whatever? Nope. Fuck em all.

If you can't comprehend this is different because it's coming for the white house, instead of some snowflakes who find each other and start a movement to get someone cancelled... But at this moment in time the snowflake is your president and the woke movement who asks to apply the "cancel culture" is called MAGA. Again if you can't comprehend that, I feel for you!

By the way you're all a disgrace for Charlie Kirk, someone who tried to win his arguments with facts or at least had the class to explain why he thought like that, sometimes by quoting the bible. You guys brains are captivated, in such an alarming way that you can't get any further than shouting that people who think differently have “Trump derangement syndrome.” Others seem just like their president intellectually incapable of getting any further than name-calling or find their save heaven in the old-fashioned “What-About-ism."

Please provide that link where you were so outraged free speech was under attack when the Biden administration had conservative podcasters deplatformed. Or shadowbanned. Or Google ( who arguably has more power) who sends conservative emails to your spam folder. How about YouTube banning a past president. The fact that you are here posting your drivel says it all. People have more free speech today in the USA than just a few years ago.

Debating with people with obvious case of TDS is a waste of time. I might as well get in an argument with a rock.

Since you're a newfound defender of free speech, how about you address the censorship machine spooling up in your own back yard:

OK,

I am sorry for interrupting a debate about freedom of speech and what jimmy Kimmel did or did not say that resulted in him getting what he did or didn't deserve.

I feel that, fake or not, the quoted post from earlier necessitates another important discussion. Can someone please tell me the difference between essential and non-essential sexual activities?

In the event that this becomes reality in the future I feel compelled to modify my lifestyle to only have "essential" sexual activities and I seek a clear definition.

Say for instance, I hate blue balls. I mean, I have a deeply rooted BB phobia which is not helped by feminists stating that it is only a made-up ailment, you know, like PMS.

If I try to eliminate the possibility of suffering from this most feared affliction, which in the past has caused me intense pain and suffering, does that qualify the sex as essential?

Will the law and consequences change if this act does indeed involve 3 or more parties?

I need clarification on these matters asap. I have been trying to start a conversation with my GF about trying some new things (if you know what I mean) and this could derail that conversation if she can decline on the grounds that it would break the law because it is deemed non-essential. Could I use the same argument if our talk takes an unintended turn?

Thanks in advance for the thoughtful and well thought out discussion I am sure will evolve on this topic.

Never forget that.

Go to ABC's website, or the Jimmy Kimmel Live Youtube page and watch the video that is still up and unedited.  And come back  and give us the exact quote where he says it was MAGA that killed him.

You have to read into what was said to get what You are getting out of it.  I watch his Youtube replays of his shows with  my mother all the time. While I will say that he has said things that I consider a bit much. I disagree that he tried to place blame on anybody.

Kimmel said " We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the figure pointing there was uh grieving. On Friday the Whitehouse flew the flags at half staff which got some criticism but on a human level You can see how hard the  President is taking this"    They then play a clip that a reporter says " My  condolences  on the loss of your  friend Charlie Kirk. May I ask sir. personally how are you holding up over the last day and a half sir? Trump replies  " I think very good, and by the way right there you see all the trucks. They've just started construction for the new Ballroom for the Whitehouse, which is something they have been trying to get for 150 years, and it's gonna be a beauty".    They cut back to Kimmel and Kimmel says " He's at the fourth stage of grief, construction ....... Demolition, construction.............  This is not how an adult grieves the murder of somebody he calls a friend. This is how a four year old morns a goldfish, and it didn't just happen once".  Then they play a clip of Trump on Fox and friends where he talks about getting the news while hes working on the ballroom .

I found Trump's response and focus on his Ballroom project to be more disrespectful towards Kirk than anything that Kimmel said about Kirk.

Let's say You replace Trump with Biden and ask him the same question , about the Murder of a friend, if he replied like Trump did, what would You say?  I would say that he's lost his mind, and or was very selfish.

Meanwhile the director of the FBI came out and said they had the guy 2 times before they got the real suspected shooter.  Should he also be fired for misleading the public on who the shooter was? I personally would take the word of the FBI director over a comedian about who the shooter was.

I might just be a horrible judge of peoples hidden meanings in their words, I personally did not take it as Kimmel blaming Maga. I took it as Kimmel saying that Maga was trying hard to let everybody know that the shooter wasn't a republican/Maga  and demonizing the democrats  for political points.

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the Maga gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them"

Effectively, what this says is that the alleged killer is part of the "Maga gang". There is no hidden meaning in the statement Kimmel made. It's blatantly stated. As for scoring political points, the first rule of politics is to never let a crisis go to waste. That applies to all politicians everywhere.

OK, another way of reading or hearing it,  the way I myself took it.  Was that Maga was letting everybody know it wasn't a republican that killed him.

They felt the need to point out that he wasn't a republican. Calling him everything else. Fare left, Leftist, radical left, Trans, etc.etc.  OR everything but a republican.

When it really doesn't matter if it was a Democrat, Republican , Independant or a horse.  Its not even close to the way even a minority of people would act, nevermind enough of one to say that it was an entire party behind it.

I don't think that all Trump voters care more about building a Ballroom than they care about Kirk's murder , just because Trump seemed to care more about it when that reporter asked him.  Why would everybody want to make it into a partywide thing. Stats show that people that vote either way have both been killers.  If something comes out that this was an organized hit , that was somehow voted on by secrete democrat ballot, then You could blame a party. Unfortunately people of all beliefs can be radicalized and turn into killers.

I think that a more tasteful thing would have been to say that there was no room for political violence no matter what.

It seems rather hypocritical to make it political  as they put the news out that Kirk was killed. Yet  when Democrats ask for laws to be changed after a school shooting they say how horrible it is to be political and that it is too soon to be talking like that. And say that its only appropriate to offer thoughts and prayers .

Let's say that ok, they are tired of Democrats using all those school shooting to make a case for a change in the laws and now they  wanted to capitalize on a  Death by gaining some political points like they say democrats are always doing. How is one better than the other?  Aren't the republicans guilty of being all the things they accuse democrats of being now?

You didnt use the full qoute. You cut it mid sentance.  The rest of the sentance was ", and doing everything they can to score political points from it".

How would Maga score political points from Maga  being the shooter?  They would only score political points if the shooter was NOT maga right?

And again, I feel horrible for Kirks family and kids.

The statement refers to scoring political points due to the murder of a popular conservative, not the identity of the killer.

The land of the free, and freedom of speech is under attack. Comedians like Jimmy Kimmel got suspended indefinitely by ABC, Stephen Colbert his 'Late Show' is getting pulled in May and all due to one man: President Donald Trump, who has now set his sight on Jimmy Fallon and uses all his power to get him cancelled by NBC. NPR calls it censorship by proxy.

Because it is natural that these major television stations bow to the current president demands, especially after his new threat to revoke broadcasting licenses if they do not do what he wants. You know like they do in current Russia, North-Korea, China and other countries where freedom of speech is worth nothing. That the FCC has a Pro-Trump chairmen will make this even a very real scenario. Not a far fetched idea.

Painful that Trump his fragile ego can't take a joke and is willing to take such outrageous actions, to stop the mocking. But stopping the support to a regime that is, as we speak, organizing an ethnic cleansing and this for almost two years already. That is something he doesn't want to take actions against. Same as taking actions against Brian Kilmeade who claimed that mentally ill homeless people should get an involuntary lethal injection. He is speaking about 594.000 voiceless people, but luckily not about President Cheeto. Otherwise he would be fired, cancelled or the broadcasting license of his employer could've been revoked!

Don't want to hear about what-about-tisme. But if you see this evolution, is this the new "Greater America?" Where foreign journalists get threaten that such a critical question won't be good for their home country, threatening and getting comedians fired, threatening broadcasters to pull their license...

So, can you explain how the dictator was convinced to let Jimmy Kimmel back?

Maybe it is because of the outrage inside and outside America? Dunno off course, if videos from foreign comedians (Lubach) are going viral because he takes aim to Disney, then there is probably a widespread discontent or widespread outrage.

Maybe Trump should've used the memorial to say how bad Kimmel was, oh damn the unmannered baboon did!
