It seems and feels to be of high quality. All the parts look and feel nice. I think it's just a teething process.. once the bugs are worked out, I have a feeling it's gonna be the best bike I've owned. I love the power delivery and handling! Just gotta get the low rpm figured out and it'll be spot on all around!

I took the stepper motor apart and it was absolutely covered in gunk. Cleaned it with MAF cleaner, rode for an hour, no stalling or acting weird.

Maybe this is your issue too? It's pretty easy to remove the stepper motor to inspect and clean. Remove the tank, then the stepper motor has 1 electrical plug and 2 Phillips screws.

Seems like this solved my issue, but time will tell.

I noticed my plunger had a groove worn in it, I'm thinking maybe it's bent slightly. I plan to replace it.

Otherwise I'm not sure how it got gummed up so bad. I haven't seen any debris in the air boot when changing filters.

It was very very hot in the Midwest this summer, close to 100. The past couple weeks have been around 80 degrees and it hasn't stalled one time.. not sure if it just doesn't like heat or what. 6.5 hours and all is well besides the stalling, so far. Will continue to investigate.

Anyone have a picture of their cam bridge, mine is pitted and scored pretty bad on the small end. That is with every ride filter changes and 3 hr oil change intervals,. 20250916 182532

I raced the local 30b class on my 450rx and the 40 open class on my 300rx a couple of weeks ago.  3 moto format over 2 days was pretty fun.  Even Ronnie Mac made some laps with us out there.  I feel faster on the 300 but actually ran better lap times on my 450.  Finished 2nd OA in both classes but I can assure you the bike isn't the problem.  It was me.  At 49 years old I'm ok not winning as much anymore but dang it I really wanted to beat those "kids" in the 30 class!

There is a recent service bulletin on the Cam Chain Tensioner. Perhaps that's causing your issue?

Hmm I hadn't seen the bulletin on that. Bike has started to tick when hot, both intakes are on the tight side. 08mm and one exhaust is on the tight side. The cam journals show some wear but have no pronounced groves. I sent info and photos to beta, will update when they reach back out to me.

Update, betausa service tech says this is normal wear and not a cause for concern

Anyone have any further info on the battery theory? Some say there was a defective battery making the bike stall easily. Mine has quit stalling since the weather has cooled, but it doesn't want to start nearly as easy now. It'll hiccup and cough first try. Second try, starts easy enough.

Just weird inconsistencies like that so far is my only gripe. It is by far the best stock bike I've ever owned. Between the good handling, easy to ride engine, and perfect comfort for my frame, I love it! Just kinda makes me nervous sometimes lol

Did you inspect your stepper motor? That 100% fixed mine.

I tried 12x52 gearing and really like it!
Seems to compliment the bike's power nicely.   The biggest difference I noticed was cornering, I didn't have to slip the clutch as much to stay in the meat of the power.

50h report
Coming back to say I'm really happy with the Beta 450RX.  Had a few teething issues to work through, as documented above, but now the bike is really fun to ride and performs great.

Pros:
Great clutch
Great Brakes
Great chassis and suspension
Excellent traction and stability
Excellent in corners, sweep, cut down, stand, sit, it's happy to do whatever you ask.
No jerkiness at initial throttle opening
Easy to ride but has plenty of power
I've had multiple people tell me that the bike looks balanced and like it handles well.  I've never had people tell me that before.
Components are holding up great.
Generally pretty easy to work on, things are accessible and don't require a ton of extra steps for basic maintenance.

Neutral:
Rev's a little slower than other 450's, but hooks up better, just something to get used to.

Cons:
Overrev isn't as good as other 450's (it makes most power towards the mid range).
No service manual available, have to use the manual for the 430/480 which is similar but not 100% the same.
Somewhat limited on aftermarket parts, but OEM parts are available and not more expensive than other brands.
Rear brake pedal play, better with Fasst  clevis but still more free swing than I like.
Airbox intake is in front of the rear wheel, seems to get a lot of dust in the airbox because of this.

I agree. Bike had a couple quirks, but after about 6 hours they all just kinda went away. Knock on wood, no more stalling!

Bike is super smooth, easy to ride hard, handles well in all situations (not the best in any, but definitely not the worst. Handles good all around), plenty of mid range, kyb is sick, components are great, looks AMAZING.

Little down on super low end power (easy sacrifice for no arm pump lol), down on top end power, definitely a mid range bike, some parts are hard to get to.

By far my favorite bike I've owned... Perfect vet bike for a larger taller guy!

Thanks for the feedback! I just picked up a 450RX to add to my collection, and I'm loving it. I immediately set PB's at the first two tracks I rode it at...lots of confidence once into a corner and exiting a corner. I have Litpro, and the data shows I pull time in every corner compared to my other bikes (2023 KTM 300sx, 2024 kx450, 2024 350sxf, 2024.5 Husky 450 Rockstar, 2022 YZ250F, to name a few). However, I can't find comfort in the forks - they feel pretty harsh no matter what I do...have you done anything to the forks to find comfort? I'm 168 lbs., 46 year old, B rider, for context.

Thanks but what page has specifications for valve clearances?

I'm a 220lbs A rider and like the stock forks, my initial thoughts are you might have to use lighter springs if you feel they are harsh all the time.

After adjusting with the clickers I added 10cc oil for more bottoming resistance.  I'm also running the forks at 10mm above the clamp, which shifts the weight bias towards the front.

I agree it felt a little sluggish on low end.
I think it was because the gearing was too tall.

12x52 has been excellent, still just as smooth but delivers more torque to use in the low RPM range. Great for corners; Less shifting, less clutch

Sounds like a dramatic change but I still have plenty of length in the gears and don't need 4th very often.

I just finished doing the update on one we have going out. Beta will warranty that update just make sure the dealer has done one before it goes out. Pretty easy to see if its been done, if there is a ground wire on the back/clutch side of the starter then it has not been done. I also flipped the starter relay over. Was not a fan of how the wires were run. I'll take a pic of what it looks like after I changed it for those that are interested.

dcg do you mind posting the picture you mentioned, I bought a leftover 24 and don’t believe any of the updates were done. Tried talking to the service manager and even sent him an email, crickets. I’ll never buy anything from the dealership again.
