Riiiiight, because they don’t have any intent to colonize, right?
You’re an idiot if you truly believe that.
Alright I'm curious on this one. What about the current state of our Democracy leads you to believe it is secure?
To me it feels the least secure it has been in a long time, with additional reasons piling up weekly, one move after the next.
Currently the executive branch is extending power and control in pretty unprecedented ways, completely undermining our democratic structure. And I don't disagree we had some things we needed to tweak, but what we're seeing isn't a reflection of securing democracy...It is aiming to significantly compromise and/or end it. It's been broken, so let's burn it down and start over. Are you on board with their actual plan for starting over? It doesn't look great for normal folks who like freedom and the ability to drive your own ship.
What has Trump done this go around that makes you feel our Democracy is secure?
We don't live in a democracy.

It’s increasingly becoming an oligarchy day by day. Big business, lobbyist and special interest have taken over our gov’t. (Not a trump thing it’s trended this way for decades and decades)
Sheesh.... Chicken Little had a rosery outlook on life than you. It's like you just ignored the last four years of extending powers in unprecedented ways. Burn it down and start over... Dude your just whack. Nothing could be said that would fulfill your curiosity, because obviously in your world, as you see it, the sky is falling.
His premise was too much to even deal with; because, his world is apparently very different than the one I live in.
Hence, I get your point.
I think you'd be surprised by my outlook on life. I am a weirdly optimistic dude - I often reframe things that are bad in a positive way. I have not ignored the past four years, and do not think the sky is falling.
Seeing what has happened thus far in this presidency, and proclaiming 'Democracy secured' is a bold statement. That is what peaked my curiosity.
EDIT - Either way, I know personally I will be just fine. I'm a simple dude that enjoys solving complex things. But if I'm relegated to cutting grass for the rest of my life, I'd find happiness in that too...I love laying some fine stripe. We have an ex-gardener and grocery store clerk running our Terrorism Prevention Unit. I have both of those on my resume plus some more shit. I'm feeling pretty good myself. But I don't think everyone will be in the same boat, or feeling the same way.
Surprised you chose Orange, Leroy!

Technically it has been this way a long time. Wondering why nobody even bats an eye at black rock. Look into them, look into your food and who owns the companies. The illusion of choice is there. But the truth is, we really don’t have it. All little guys are squeezed out. Housing is next.
Very much agree with this. Trump hasn't drained the swamp, but I think he's done a decent job exposing it and bringing awareness to a lot more people. Musk lobbying for Trump was done in plain sight, not behind closed doors. I hate this, but respect it at the same time.
Freedom hasn't quite been a thing for a long time here for most, it's an illusion. You don't actually own much, we are all slaves to the system.
I also agree with the comment above that we aren't actually a democracy... because in reality our representatives (not all of them) don't really represent the people they are supposed to, they represent the interests of the organizations that pad their pockets.
I also get why this happens. For example, a state senator in MI makes less than 80k a year...that is not enough to put up with what they have to put up with. There needs to be a better balance, and one that doesn't drive most elected officials towards corrupt ways to earn a living.
Blackrock has been driving a lot for a while. Palantir is about to run the show, and we are currently on a Fastrack to speed up what has already been in motion for a while. Much like the Pandemic did.
Oh I know. BlackRock is buying up enough housing so my generation and younger will struggle to ever own a home. They want homes as a subscription service. I don’t see any political party trying to fight them.
It’s sad. America as we know it is dead. Trump won’t fix it, no democrat will fix it.
When 90% of us agree that congress shouldn’t be allowed to trade individual stocks and there rebuttal is if you don’t allow it no one will run for office you know we are fucked.
Govt positions used to be for the greater good. Now people want to be elected to get rich. It’s not noble. It’s not humanitarian, it’s not a rising tide lifts all ships. It’s exploitation.
Love the merch store at the white house.
Housing, the single family type, has been under attack for decades now.
It was accelerated under the obama administration. He openly stated his desire to integrate neighborhoods all across the country.
BlackRock is a perfect example.
They've been buying up single family homes, large swaths of land, all across the country.
And look at what's unfolding in the palisades right now. Single family home rebuilds are being strangled by regulations, and now we're hearing that the area is being bought up by land grabbers in order to reshape the area with multifamily/low income housing.
It's all about corralling, and controlling the masses.
Open borders, and gerrymandered districts are about more that just reshaping for votes.
But again, we're set up as a constitutional republic, not a democracy.
Housing? It’s already kinda here. If your paying a mortgage the bank owns your house, not you. Who owns the banks… Blackrock, vanguard, state street.
so you literally have nothing beyond the headlines you read on fox lmao

Nothing to contribute and attacks the individual.
Sounds like a very “adult conversation”…you know, real meaningful dialogue.
You Can Not Make This Shit Up 💩
Bingo, Black Rock owns over 10 trillion is assets. Wrap the brain around that one. They are in everything and the government won’t cut it off. Because they are the governments secondary private 🏧 which is you guessed it. Funded by everyone’s 401k. The amount of fuckery and overall twisted logic is so wrong.
Who are you? Clearly you provide nothing but problems. Be gone peasant
hmmm... It must be the top of the hour, the cuckoo just came out of his clock.
Here's an idea.
You need to start your own thread.
You can title it, the world according to grunt.
There you can give us all of the, oh so important, insights you're catching that the rest of us are missing.
You're welcome.
Free market capitalism is great! /s
The question is how to fix it. Yes we are under a guise of a free market, it is just at a larger scale.
Now politicians get into the game to become rich and wealthy, not make a difference and do the right thing. Too much red tape of lobbyists, and big money doners with specific wants.
Salaries range from 87k- 250k per year and they are worth multiple million dollars while in office, then sign legislation to benefit themselves. We all know the names on each side of the aisle.
Now we have digital assets taking over and our government and large corps are buying it so fast and hard they will control that as well. So what’s happens to the fiat and all those ETFs. Easy liquidity for them to take
Well for one it would be to make it illegal for politicians to trade individual stocks. Something 90% of Americans support. Congressional members that are not acting on the will of the people need to be voted out. To make up for it we could increase salaries for them.
Stronger monopoly laws.
Term limits. Stricter laws on lobbying (ie get corporate America’s out of it). There are answers to the problem.
