Exactly.

At some point, walk away while you still can. Reed has done it all. Why throw the dice again and risk it all? I'm sure Wey has done well in the last few years, too.

Many people here just don't seem to get that.

How are Metty and Wey anything a like?

Wey top 5 guy when riders are out and he is on his game, top 10-15 guy at best otherwise, not that being a 10-15 guy is a bad thing, still freeking fast on anyones scale.

From what i have seen of wey in vids he is pretty out there doesnt mind talking it up and having some fun. Great rider to watch and from the limited amount of i have seen in vids of his personality pretty cool guy.

Metty on the other hand is a top 5 guy with everyone in and still getting faster, only 6 months in the big bike class where i am pretty sure he finished about 10 places ahead of wey in nearly every moto at a minimum.

Metty seems pretty quiet and a fair bit more introverted than Wey, actually couldnt think of two guys further apart both on and off the track.

Then again looking at your posts i would say an Aussie at some stage accidently ran over your dog! not fan of our brothers from down under?
Kiwi,

First, no, I'm not a fan of Australians. Not my cup of tea - generally speaking.

Your summary is spot on. Well done. I agree, those two guys are polar opposites, not only in character make up but also their riding results.

Metcalfe was amazing this year - and I'm not even a fan.

Well done Metty!

This year Reed reminds me of a spoiled kid getting booted out of his parents house. He's always had the best since he came here and he still wants the best. His results last year just don't give him the credentials to expect the best and a fat paycheck. There's to many up and new comers that want it more than him. He's going to have to take and receive less while putting forth a lot more effort this year. He still could be a top rider if he wanted to, but he just seems like he doesn't really care that much anymore. I hope he does come to A1 ready to win but I'm not holding my breath. I can see it now.... He'll race a few races with some not so good results, and then Epstein Barr will some how infect him again... I do hope he proves me wrong though! I just call it like I see it.

Why would anyone want him ( or anyone else) to just walk away? You people are ignorant! If people like reed and web walked away it would cut away at the depth of the field and what point would there be to follow mx anymore? Guess his one bad season was too much for some of you , guess js7 should walk away too.
I'm not basing my opinion on a "bad season".
If I was in a position that I had made a shitload of $$ at mx, gave it my all for years and was still reasonably young and healthy I think I would seriously consider quitting while I was ahead.
There are always new guys coming up so your "depth of the field" argument is baseless.
IMO Reed, Wey or even Windham for that matter have nothing more to prove.....It's their choice.... I'm just saying how I would weigh my options.

I understood Chad was to show the World his new ride one week before the Newcastle Super X. It's now less than a week 'til the gate drops in Newcastle and I haven't seen or heard anything about who Chad's riding for.

You got any insider information, Old Mate?

Crush, judging by the results in Delhi there are probably a whole bunch of Commonwealth Nations that are also not fans of Australians.

Well, he sold his house in Florida. Ellie tweeted like a month or so ago about how sad she was to be staying in thier house for the last night and leaving all the memories there. Chad is also racing SuperX and is suppose to annouce some kinda deal in Newcastle. From his Twitter, Carey Hart has been in the works with some BIG deal in AUS.

My guess is Chad will sign with H&H to race SuperX 2011 & 12 and maybe the AUS Nats. If he does race here at all next year, it will have to be a Factory Honda with H&H graphics. Most factory rides here are full and the ones that arent dont have the loot for him. Carey is working a huge deal with Dodge. Someone else also tweeted, cant rememebr who now, but they said H&H will have some big talent on thier team. So we will see.
