Try roll starting it.

I started to, but I got 2 flat tires, can't run, and it's f'ing HOT outside! I figured if it wasn't kick starting, then it's likely something not right. Maybe I'll see if the kid can help after I see if the tires hold air.

They have the points ignition on that year. That's probably your issue not the coil. It wasn't until like 89 it got upgraded.

Maybe. I'm having trouble locating the pink slip at the moment.

Sorry I cannot i haven't messed with them since the early 80's. Plenty of videos on YouTube though. Usually it's because the contact points got dirty rusty or the gap got out of spec. You have to pull the flywheel off.

If was possible I myself would see if I could swap out the electrical system. From the later model and go with the cdi stator flywheel wiring harness. And get rid of the points setup. It would be more reliable.

Don't need a pink slip but I do need a good price as I just dumped $800 into a new LOSI buggy and LIPO battery's and charger. 😳 it was a impulse buy.

What are you thinking for price?
