I heard it was gonna happen, and videos I've seen the blocks appear to be uniform wood blocks provided by the track. No custom start blocks. Is this going to be the norm at pro nationals soon?

It’s funny you mentioned it, because I noticed the same collection of what looked like 4x4 or 6x6 blocks left at the gate. It surprised me when fancy adjustable aluminum monstrosities are everywhere even at local events.

Is it actually a rule this year? I haven’t heard anyone else mention it…

It has been a rule at LL's since I don't know when.  You are only allowed to use those provided blocks.  And, there ain't 42 sets of them so ya better not waste time getting them.  I get the sense the rule at LL's has been more just to control the proliferation of people letting their own blocks laying all over the place in the starting area than for fairness or anything like that.

Good on them for putting that rule in place, starting blocks are out of control and im sure some moto dads are pretty pissed off their kid can't use custom start blocks.
