As far as the name brand goggles go, there are only a few actual manufacturers. I know for a fact that 100% and Fly come out of the same factory.

As far as the name brand goggles go, there are only a few actual manufacturers. I know for a fact that 100% and Fly come out of the same factory.

Yes most of the good goggles do come from the same factory but that doesn't mean they are built to the same specs.  Theres a wide range of quality and fit between brands and models.  

 

I always tell friends if they are looking for a new goggle to bring their helmet with them to the shop so they can try them on as there are a million variables between helmet shapes, face shapes, and goggle shapes that you may need to try several to find the ones that fit best.

I guess someone got so ass hurt from my truthful statement about 100% and Fly being made in the same factory, that they down voted my comment.

Yeah I was more clarifying for the general public.  And I seem to get at least one downvote on every post I make so I get it 😂

 

Same thing with helmets.  Pretty much all the high end helmets are made in the same factory but these factories are just the cooks, the brands tell them what ingredients to put in them.  You'll occasionally see some things that are the same between brands too.  When I started selling 6D I noticed the button on the end of the chin strap was identical to the Astars SM10 as well as the way the cheekpads snapped in.

I really like the Supratechs and from the picture, they seemed to have more room but that's hard to tell without fitment/positioning.

The other thing I didn't like when I first noticed it on Hunters helmet/goggle setup . Is they have a little piece where the strap connects to the frame that angles the goggle slightly back. Tilted so it looks like it puts more pressure on to the forehead /top part than the lower areas.  I thought it looked funny angling the goggle like that  until I wore them.  I have the alpinestars Helmets too though.

 

Come back and let us know how the Fly goggles are.

The best clear lens for Scott goggles is the single pane light sensitive. Visual clarity is better than the flat clear lens and it does not darken that much in direct sunlight.

its your helmet, not the goggles. i spent 10 years dealing with this and trying new goggles. got rid of my shoei and it changed my life

Fly did reach back out and said the Scott Prospects or their Fly Zone Pro( I ordered) were made around my helmet so I'll see when they arrive. Of course after I ordered I hot a ton off sale offers on the Airbrakes and great prices. Figures.
