I would play Supercross Circuit and I would lap all the AI twice on the hardest difficulty on 20 laps (I think that was the most amount of laps you could do for a race). I was constantly clutching it for a speed burst.

Favorite game was MX vs ATV Unleashed, especially the REV patch, but Supercross Circuit and MCM were up there too. MTX Mototrax and 2001 Championship Motocross were good. I had issues with MCM2 for some reason, it would crash at times and my controller was wonky with it so I liked it, but don't feel it got a great shot. I think it could have been awesome if I didn't have the issues I did.

Great thread. Amazing how time goes...

It's not just the games but the memories associated with them. I remember being in my late teens and early 20s (42 now) divng into movie rental stores and video game shops etc. The MX games were almost all universally terrible (and I knew it even then) but if you used your imagination you could sort of make up for it...

Aside from the obvious (MCM2) I will say I sunk an horrendous amount of hrs in Supercross 2001 for the PS1 (as already posted on the first page with Emig on the cover).

It has a fairly simple clutch and berm mechanic that was sort of addictive when timed right - allowing you jump whole sections. Plus every track from the 2000 season recreated, with full 20 lap races and decent AI, and Art Eckman and David Bailey commentary. Must look into emulating it one day.

MX 2001 Featuring Ricky Carmichael was also great for track recreations.

You can download MCM2 for free from myabandonware.com. I still play it from time to time.

Damn might be time to find an old PC to play it on.

MX Superfly had the weirdest physics, very stiff but floaty

I played the shit out of ATV Offroad Fury 2. I liked the St. Croix Sound map with that long jump rhythm, the paths/tracks thru the islands, the water trails, and rolling thru the little volcanos - good times! 😆

PS1 emulation is damn near perfect these days, I do it to play the old Alien games haha

You don't even need an old PC. I run it on my laptop with the latest version of Windows. All I had to do was go into the game preferences and change a setting called compatability mode to Windows XP.
