I started watching his(My Self Reliance) channel about the same time, when he was doing his first cabin. They were very relaxing. No talking, just building and sometimes sitting back to ponder. I drifted away from the channel but sometimes watch one here or there.

One of the reasons i might like his channel is that we are the same age and height. Thus, like any entertainment, I can place myself doing what he is doing and thinking the same thoughts.

I’ve been watching a channel called The Car Care Nut. It’s about a guy that just works on Toyota’s & Lexus cars. Interesting if that’s your type of thing.

I am loving this guy's video essays. (It helps that I studied music in college, but you may enjoy them even without in-depth knowledge of music theory.) Check 'em out:

This guy is a gen-z music producer who is discovering album rock classics. Here, he listens to Pink Floyd for the first time. You can almost see his brain melting!

This is interesting and sorta moto.  The video has different clips in it of different stuff (disregard the name - it's only for the 1st clip).     Checkout  at 45 seconds in.  The Russians show their 2 wheeled battle field strategy for getting past razor wire down range. lol  A couple of them almost go over the bars.

Big Water Guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6tD_RX4qZ8

This one popped up in my feed. The videos of interest to me are the ones where he is diving in the Columbia river or Drano lake. He collects a mind blowing amount of lost fishing gear then sells it on the dock.

Flashers for Salmon fishing. I was hoping Chance would see my post and comment but oh well.

The flasher is for attracting the salmon and behind it on a leader is tied the bait.

The video that i posted is from Drano lake just off the Columbia River. Some locals like to think the term "Combat Fishing" originated from here as when the bite is on it is CROWDED. Think fist fights.

I  love that area of the Columbia.  That stretch on the main river from around Drano up to Bingen Harbor has some big Smallmouth  and decent numbers of them too. Even caught a few Walleye while bass fishing along that stretch years back.

^Thanks for the download. I've never been very interested in fishing, but my son is all about it. He and his friends go down to Canyon Lake and fish every week.

Post up your rare gems you found down the Youtube rabbit hole. Here are some of mine:

This guy buys, modifies and repairs (often) a Chinese ATV with a Jeep-styled body on it, then tries to drive it 1,000 miles to Moab, Utah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8Bvy8wHD7g. (Several parts.) He's hilarious and the scenery is awesome.

A really well-done mini film about riding The Whole Enchilada. This video was largely responsible for inspiring me to go ride that route myself, and I'm planning to go up there again in October: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ana6az4zGvo

This guy comedically talks up military heroes, equipment, and tactics. The vids are essentially all the same, but his delivery cracks me up: https://www.youtube.com/@the_fat_electrician
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpD7ZqGWncM

I just finished watching the mini jeep adventure , what a trek that was…😂

Ford Mustang GTD. The first American-made car to lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes.

https://youtu.be/8AnhxB8Xh6w

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the first car from an American brand to complete a lap in under seven minutes. It’s the fifth fastest time by a stock production sports car  and Mustang GTD is only the sixth vehicle in that class to break the seven-minute barrier. Driven by Multimatic Motorsports driver Dirk Müller, the 815-horsepower Mustang GTD lapped the circuit nicknamed “The Green Hell” in an officially certified 6:57:685.

The time delivers on the goal laid out by CEO Jim Farley at the Mustang GTD’s debut in August 2023. “The team behind Mustang GTD took what we’ve learned from decades on the track and engineered a Mustang that can compete with the world’s best supercars,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. “We’re proud to be the first American automaker with a car that can lap the Nürburgring in under seven minutes, but we aren’t satisfied. We know the Mustang GTD can set a faster Nürburgring lap. We’ll be back.”

Mustang GTD’s Nürburgring success is due to the work of a small, dedicated team of engineers and designers who worked tirelessly over the course of two years to turn the Mustang GT3 race car into the first-ever Mustang supercar.

The Mustang was the first American car to lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes, but GM and the Corvette just beat their time.

The drivers weren't professionals either.

Corvette ZR1X: 6:49.275

Corvette ZR1: 6:50.763

The Z06 failed, but did a 7:11.826.

Jim Farley the CEO of Ford commented on Instagram.

Three drivers. Three Corvettes. One mission: reinforce Corvette as a dominant force in American performance. Join our homegrown engineering team—and the Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X—as they journey to the Nürburgring to conquer the unthinkable.
