Wish I could make the trek from AZ this weekend to see it in person. The track looks great in all of the videos. Some of the sections look like they will separate the riders when its starts to get rough. Looks like they did a lot of work from the older photos and videos....

For ANY of you naysayers, non believers or people worried about the track. This track is awesome. I just got home from the crossover race in which I was able to burn some laps and I will tell you right now from my experience on most the national tracks, this track is right on par with the best of them.

Top notch,

We will see some GREAT racing tomorrow.
I think there are four Coors Lites, and that's it.

Looks too narrow to me. I will never understand why most American tracks are so damn narrow. We could learn a LOT from the Euros on how to make mx tracks IMHO.

Good, so Glen Helen and the whole MXA crew can officially go F$%K themselves.

Mitch Payton said it was narrow which would be bad for passing. But who needs passing?

I guess it is way more interesting to bash, be negative, jump to conclusions and just talk crap before you really know anything.

I remember a few months ago and all the negativity and smack talk. I guess first hand knowledge, riders stating facts and the powers that control the outdoors proving it could be done is just not as interesting as big boy smack posts from behind a keyboard!
Blink
To be fair not the most descriptive title for a thread is it? Could have easily been another thread with a load of moaning and bitching.

But glad the track looks kick ass.. Can't wait till tonight (for us poms/euros)..

JB what did Dungy say. Quote, Glen Helen is a MAN's Track. He said it and he is National Champ. And Glen Helen and Jody and the MXA gang say man up and come and ride Glen Helen. Let us know when you get here. If you can't make it then sorry. Real men don't need to use the same language you do to get a point across. Guess it shows your age.

I did a quick poll of the riders who I could find yesterday after the press day riding session, and asked them whether they preferred Glen Helen or Pala, and it went like this.

Canard - Pala.
Dungey - Pala. He also mentioned that we haven't raced here yet, and that he always considered GH to be a man's track.
Pourcel - Pala.
Rattray - About the same.
Fiolek - Pala.

I also saw a tweet from Short saying that he preferred the track here.

That's all from a very dusty practice session, and they've been doing a lot more watering today.

It'll be interesting to see how the spectators like it. The track is long and thin, and they've put in an amazing amount of work on it.
in my opinion it would seem nice to have gh back on the tour also. and while at it i would really love to see gatorback get a national again. but yes i know i am dreaming; but the south east is such a hot spot for mx tallent and no national race.

for some reason I couldnt quote TriRacer27's post so I copy and pasted it.

""""""""Really reminds me of Gatorback for some reason with the way the hills are laid out. Especially with the big elevator jump then a right hander and back down. Different dirt but similar feel.

Could be wrong though, haven't seen it in person yet.

Good job to Oulette and Chandler on the hard work and on delivering on their promises"""""""""""""

I agree to a point the drop offs remind me of gator back but the elevator at gatorback there was NO WAY you could case it like they were intentionaly doing at pala.
But the new layout there is nothing like it used to be instead of going up and down the hills you basically go across typical modern mx trend.
