We worry about back injuries yet we never consider the dreaded eye injuries. Imagine losing your sight because a goggle lens malfunctioned.

Nick Wey is living proof such an accident can happen. His eye was black and blue. Praise the Lord his eye was not injured.

I purchase the inexpensive Scott 89 style goggles for $25 dollars but will reconsider purchasing one with a stiffer lens or more rigid frame or at lease consider lens deflection or popping out when purchasing another set.

Eye patches are not sexy...we should demand more from the manufacturers other than trendy graphic designs as someone mentioned before.


This look is not sexy...where your goggles at all times guys.

oh and those riders racing with out goggles in the mud...AMA should black flag those guys because eventually an accident is waiting to happen...

Dude, you have a point about the *goggle* malfunctions. It has been happening all year....and its a great thing that nobody has lost an eye. However, you don't have to look very far to see where this thread derailed.

Whats up buddy? Did you go fishing this weekend? Anyways, I told Dan to Instant message me and I would provide him will all the personal information he wants.

Eye injuries hit home with me I had a friend who was a pipe fitter and was grinding down a weld bead with a 3" diameter Makita grinder and the wheel disenegrated and the fragments embedded into his eyes causing blindness in both. He was wearing saftey glasses too. Accidents happen.

Where is Terryb, Jack and OCscottie?

We had a very informative goggle re-design discussion going that somehow got derailerd.
