Not sure if this questions been asked before but what does everyone recommend?

Mainly for use on older two strokes 94 RM250, 87 KX125, 93 CR125.

Got some castrol power 1, which I’m sure is fine, but it doesn’t smell like a 2stroke generally mix 40/1, but seen more ppl recommend 32/1?

I can tell with 7 posts you missed the last oil thread. It seems like there is no best. Any name brand oil with good gas and proper jetting will be just fine. This thread could possible kick out to 7 pages and you still won't find "the best".

Any engine failure you come across will likely not be from choice in the brand of 2 stroke oil. Cheapest most readily available synthetic without a extremely high flashpoint should be fine. Maxima super m would probably be my choice. But there is a seriously large list of oils that would be just as good. Motul 710 is another that comes to mind.

Both available on amazon and keep enough on hand that you won’t have to resort to hunting it down. I “stock” everything and replace it as I use it, so i typically have a couple quarts extra of any oil I run. That goes with tubes, tear offs, and everything else my friends always ask me for (don’t keep it stocked for them lol)

as said above, any good brand will fo the job, i personally run motul 800 in my tank and motul trans in the gearbox, i bought my yz 125 in dec 2002, its a 2003 model and ive raced it every year since, the hour meter went round the clock in 2004,

Wrapped around in 2024?  I think you meant?    So, over 1,000 hours ?     Be interested to hear a short list of how many cranks, pistons, etc... LOL

Is it castrol power 1 or castrol power 1 racing? Castrol power 1 is semi synthetic and the racing is fully synthetic. Wouldn’t use the semi synthetic

I like (and run) Maxima K2 because it's synthetic and easy to find. I LOVE Bel-Ray H1R because it's magic.

Underrated Premix, great protection. Bargain when you buy it by the gallon.

It is pretty damn amazing. I admit I stopped using it years ago only because I wanted "that smell". Running Klotz these days.

Like what has already been mentioned, really anything with relative quality will do.

I’ve gone with Motul 800, however no where to ride anymore as yet! Can’t get into PV down my drive so I’m going to have a little wait!
