He’s riding as good as ever. I don’t see him switching teams and having to deal with a lot of testing this point in his career. Yamaha and monster are absolutely crazy if they can’t find a way to scrape together funds for one more year

I don't doubt that Yamaha and/or Monster have the finances to retain Tomac, but it seems that they have projected that it doesn't make business sense to allocate those funds for that purpose.  They can see the projected ceiling.  The best Eli can do is win the championship and Monster/Yamaha knows what that costs in salary/bonuses/travel/parts/personnel, etc.  They also know that he could get injured and not be able to race at all. Lately, with Eli, they have more experience with injuries and no racing.  Plus, I think all parties thought he'd be retired by now.

I hope he finds a way to have what he needs to race next season.

I don't at all feel like he's being done dirty by Yamaha.  I do feel that Yamaha and/or Monster are most likely making a sound business decision based on the projected financial impact to the company.

He said Tomac is leaving yamaha ? Was that his opinion or a fact ? Because this is the only place I have read that. Not saying it wont happen but I see him retiring before starting over on a new team

Leaving would imply its Eli's decision. Star ismt going to resign him. ML, Mathes, Weigant, JT have all reported on it. Its everywhere

No, i definitely wasn't saying you were implying Star was doing Eli dirty. Just a general statement to people who act like Star has unlimited piles of money and should just ignore their budget amd sign Eli to a lifetime contract.

How many times has tomac been hurt on the Yamaha vs kawi or Honda?

He got Yamaha their first 450 sx championship since Bubba in ‘09 and has made it the bike to be on. Yamaha should figure it out for him IMO, at least a one year deal. I feel Tomac has brought a lot of people over to the bLU cRU.

Eli to Ktm makes me relive the heart burn of Trey to KTM

I see more people buying blue bc of ET3. How many are going blue because of CW2?

Lmao it's probably because of #38. That and all the blue 250s are always up front..

Honestly KTM seems like the default place for him to go. The bike is top notch, he can bring his Astars deal, and I'm sure he wouldn't have to train at the Burnout Factory.

The only suspect aspect is the PMG financial debacle...

In the silly season video ML says something like “everyone in the industry knows that talks between Eli and Yamaha/Star are non-existent”

So imagine that Tomac comes out and wins Motorcross this summer!

I'm sure talks would reignite.

It's between Tomac and Jett with Sexton 3rd.

If Tomac wins MX does it change the outlook?

I doubt it.  If they wanted to pay for his championship potential they already would have.

i for one would love to see tomac on a green bike but lets be real, thats not going to happen. As much as it pains me to say it, KTM is his best option right now if he wants to roll into A1 and be a title contender in 26. NONE of the other options are going to provide that.

I wonder how big of a deal breaker a hydro clutch really is for him.

I don't think there is a situation where he can stay on a cable clutch. Unless he can line up another Yamaha ride, which I 100% believe he should. He looks great on the YZ450, just stay on one and ride it off into the sunset. MC, JS7, Reed, Windham, those guys have all ridden and won 450 Supercrosses on Factory supported independent teams. You don't have to be on a Factory team to win. Eli could win on a ClubMX YZ450 if they could afford him. Hell, Eli could win on a Star Racing YZ450 pitted out of a Toy Hauler behind the semi lol.

Club bike won't hold up to the abuse from ELI.

I agree with this statement. Bring him home.

This!!

Ever since Tomac been rumored to switch from blue and continue I’ve been dreaming of how cool it would be.

Reed, Stew and K-roc all looked and performed great on what basically still is the same underrated bike.
