I've been told both the Yamaha and ktm have an option to reduce engine braking.   My sons fresh of a two stroke and not exactly a fan of the engine braking effect he's feeling.    I been playing with the tuning app.   So far I removed a lot of fuel from the 10% throttle area.  Which he said made it feel better.   More I pull less it engine brakes.    I'm just concerned is it being that lean?    Anyone know another way?

As long as it's not decel popping, you're most likely fine on the lean front. Kawasaki app tuning parameters aren't going to let you get too far into left field, by design. Other tips/tricks to minimize engine braking are running slipper-style clutches (pricey), or practice entering turns a gear higher/leaving it up longer before downshifting to drive out. Two strokes (little/no engine braking) are much more forgiving when entering turns in a lower gear compared to their 4T counterparts. Hope this helps, and be sure to keep the thread updated as you and your son dial in that KX250! Cheers

Well we definitely had some lean pop or gurgle going on at the extreme end.

You can turn up the idle a little. There is only so much you can do with the apps. One of the ecu tuners like twisted might have something more effective than the factory app.
