250f Vs. 250T

My 2006 KTM 525SX was the most fun bike I owend so far. the low end grunt was just amazing!!!

And if you got yourself if some trouble, you could sometimes get out of it with its power, since you didnt really have to be "on the pipe".... just twist the throttle and it jumps like a MOFO

If the equal displacement formula becomes the normal way to race, you'll see very few riders on four strokes pretty soon. Yes, it's the rider that counts, but racing a 250F against a 250T is like James Stewart racing a 125 in the '04 nationals. He won, but...he's James Stewart.

i just really love the "power everywhere" of the F's, over a peaky powerband of the 2's

i miss the exhaust fumes of 2 strokes and the sound, plus when you have em both in the same race it adds some diversity.. however it could also add to the talent diversity making some faster or slower. wow i cant formulate a single sided opinion haha

Well I just bought my son a KTM 144SX 2 banger.... so I can take that out every now and then if i feel like riding a 2.

And i will be picking up a 2008 YZ450F for myself in the next couple weeks or so. CANT WAIT!!!!!

I loved my 525sx......nothing like blowing up corners in 3rd gear.
actually you pretty much could ride most tracks in 3rd gear.

I started two gates to the outside of a KX250 two stroke with no one in between us we were both pretty much equal all the way down the start until he let off. I thought for sure he was going to rip me but I was pleasantly surprised at how equal it really was. I got the hole shot, I think he was 2nd but I am not sure.

I could get a better holeshot on a 250 smoker but i'd finish better on a 250f.
I'd definitley unload or cartwheel on the 2 stroke before the end of a moto.

There's nothing that sounds as good as a 500cc two stroke. Nothing. I like to have other people ride my bike just so I can listen to it.

I was enjoying the 250f dude who was complaining about the 250t's being too fast.......but he was ok when the the 250f's had twice the displacement over the 125cc .

If the four strokes are that great of a technology for racing MX they will be fine with equal displacement.........if not they will go away and be replaced by two strokes or something even more advanced.

Moto racing sound like a Harley convention now. Before when it was nothing but 2-smokes it was something unique. Something different that not everyone did or was familiar with. Now that the 4-strokes are "easier" to ride, anyone can get into racing, as long as ytou have the bank roll. Watching Rick Johnson, Daivd Bailey , Bob Hanna, Jeff Ward, Jeff Emig, Mcgrath, Stewart (the 125 years), The Goat (the early years) etc.... they were doing something that only a handful of people had the balls to do. But now like many have said before, as long as you have the money, anyone can be competitive. Now yes I am exagerating a little. Yes I ride a 2-stroke and yes I have ridden a 250. It is definately easier to ride a 4stroke and I know I could ride on a track longer on a 250 than my 01 rm250. But I have a nostalgia kind of feeling when I wake up in the desert put down the cup of coffee and fire up my RM and smell the premix burning. It makse me think that I am in a small group of people that still do it the way it was suppose to be done.
