Has anyone had throttle problems with their 2010 KX450F? Both mine and my best friend's are having bogging issues. The bikes will periodically bog without warning at various rpm ranges. The bog is unpredictable, because it does not happen when you twist the throttle very fast like a typical carbureted bike. It just happens while you are riding along like normal. After it first started doing it I checked everything out to make sure that there wasn't something in the fuel injection system and that everything was clean. Later that night I rode it for about 10 minutes and it bogged off the face of a triple. It caused me to come up short and land into the face of the landing endoing over it. After that I became scared of it and took it to a dealer.
The dealer needed to understand what it does, so they took it to a track and it almost caused them to endo over a double. Right now the dealer has it apart, but they do not have any idea exactly what is going on with it. I am curious if other people have had any issues with their bikes.
This problem is rather scary to me, because I am worried it could bog over more jumps.

I am using half 91 pump and half 104 octane mixed together. I forgot what brand it is. I asked the dealer about it and they said that is probably not the problem, because the bike does not bog all the time or have a pattern of bogging. It only does it periodically. I have ran half pump and race gas in my carbureted bikes for years without any problems, so I didn't suspect the new ones to have any problems either.
The bike acts like it has an electrical short. The dealer mentioned that it could be a number of things such as the throttle position sensor, fuel pump, wiring, etc. The bike was only about 10 weeks old with about 10-15 hours on it when it started having the problem.

I put the same gas in a Kawasaki Prarie 300 utility 4-wheeler the other night and it ran fine.

Update:

I have determined the problem is heat related and not fuel related. I ran my log splitter for over 4 hours on the same gas without any sputters this past weekend.

Since my best friend's bike is having a similar issue and we are both getting tired of waiting to ride, he decided to do a little experimenting with his bike until I find out what is wrong with my bike. Both of our bikes were bogging when the tanks were somewhat low on fuel (about 1.5-2 inches from the bottom). So we thought maybe you have to keep the tank at a certain level or the fuel pump does not get enough fuel. He first test rode his around the neighborhood and it began bogging right off the bat, so he decided to fill it on up with 91 pump gas. After that he said it quit bogging. He rode it around for about 30 minutes without problems. Granted he could not ride the piss out of it in the neighborhood.
I had him go pick my bike up from the dealer and test it to see if it acted the same. He filled it up with pump gas (instead of testing it out first), and said it ran fine. He thought the problem was solved until he let it get hot. He let both bikes idle for about 10-15 minutes until they got hot enough to start leaking a little coolant out of the overflow. He said my bike began bogging once it was hot, but his still didn't have any problems.
I am confident my bike has a heat-related problem. It is going back to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully they will have the connectors in to hook it up to a computer. They have been waiting for connector parts to see if the diagnostics tells them anything.

It turns out the problem was the fuel pump. Once they hooked my bike up to diagnostics it gave them a fault code for the fuel pump. The dealer replaced the pump and it ran fine this weekend.
The funny thing is my best friend was riding with me and his bike started having almost the exact same issue mine was having. Whenever it got hot it would start bogging. He had me ride it to see what I thought and after about 3 laps it started bogging similar to what my bike was doing. His bike has close to the same amount of hours on it my bike had when it started having issues. We spoke to a local mechanic and he mentioned having a KX450F in his shop that he thought was having fuel pump issues.

I just had the same problem with my 09, but it didn't matter what the fuel level was. It bogged in the middle of a big rythm section after I tried heat tape on the bottom of the tank and keeping the tank full. Luckily I rode it out, parked the bike, then decided it was the fuel pump and ordered it the next day, got it yesterday.

Kawasaki said the 2009s had some problems with the fuel pump hitting the top of the fuel tank causing them to break. I guess when the tank would flex there was not enough clearance between it and the fuel pump. They said they fixed it for 2010.
They never mentioned what the issue is with the 2010s.

Hondas had fuel pump issues too, or any FI bike is bound to have a fuel pump issue. Dirt can get in, and if you run your tank low or dry a couple times, that's very hard on the fuel pump
