Made a little bit of progress. Unfortunately, I’m back to work and this is back to an hour or so a night project.

Front end back on and coming together. Waiting on a couple of things to get the brakes installed and front wheel back on.
As I’m getting close to working on the backend, pulled out these trick axle blocks and rear axle nut I found. Usually the block and nuts are trashed, as was the case on this bike. Actually, blocks weren’t bad, but nut was unusable. Found 2SM on one of the CR pages on FB. He did some replacement blocks up for my 93 250 and they turned out great. I’ve had him do blocks for every bike since. I also think these nuts from Pro Bolt look great so I’ve added those as well. I feel it’s little details like these that set these restoration apart. They may not be exactly what Pro Circuit used in 1992, but it’s an upgrade.

Awesome build man !

Little bit of progress. Just waiting on a couple of things for front and back wheels and brakes and I’ll be able to get everything done with the exception of a couple things I want to redo. Nice day today in the PNW so I cleaned the garage up a little bit and pulled it out to get a pic in the sun. Little bit of luck and some on time UPs deliveries, I’ll be done next week.
I’m going to swap out the front plate. Don’t like the cut out for the OE brake guide. The Peak bikes ran a unit bolted on the front plate without the cutout. I have one on the way, will get it signed and on the bike. This one will go on the wall with a Peak gear set I have. Also going to swap out front and rear fender decals. Logos on this set I got from EVO are incorrect.
Looking fantastic!
Well done!
I have a friend in MD that has a signed MC Peak gas tank. Skip and Clyde have been friends for a very long time and Skip gave it to him.
That’s awesome. Would love to see a pic. I’ve had the opportunity to meet Skip, don’t know him well, but he seems like an outstanding individual. I can tell you MC is an awesome dude. He’s been outstanding to me and super supportive of my efforts to restore these bikes.
I have a cool deal signed by MC and Skip. I’ll get a photo and post it up.
Last few things I was waiting on finally got here and I was able to get it finished up.
Legit 🇺🇸🤘
Nice!!
(and beautiful landscape)
I’m doing a white tank at the moment with similar yellowing what method did you use to get it looking this good? Thanks
It was in rough shape to start. I did quite a bit of shaving on it, then sent it out to JSD restoration to try to work some magic. He did a really nice job, but it still had some yellow spots when I got it back. I plastered it down with hydrogen peroxide paste and hit it with UV light, couple of times per side to get it where it’s at today. It’s not perfect, but it turned out pretty good. Here’s where it started.

Amazing job on this replica! I'm wanting to build one myself. Where did you source the seat cover? I'd like to be sure I can get some key pieces to the puzzle before I can tackle it.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Here's my '86 CR125R that I just finished. It was on display at The One Moto Show 2025.
Mastercross in Italy. They have really top notch stuff in terms of quality and detail. Not cheap, but it's period correct. EVO MX in the UK has them too, and their good, but some of the details are slightly off. If you need any insight on parts for these 92 Peak bikes, feel free to reach out. I'm actually doing a 2nd one now with a slightly different spin on it.
Great build! I'm partial to the old CRs, they're hard to beat. Congratulations on the Bike of The Day acknowledgement.
Thank you so much for the info. I know about EVO MX but as you said they are a bit off. The "Peak" seat cover they offer is def. not correct for the build. I just looked at the Mastercross site and it looks amazing! Much appreciated! As for the '80's CR's, I can't get enough of them lol. I have an '83 CR60, an '88 CR250 which I ride often, the CR125 I just finished, and my last find was an '87 CR500, not only with a title but a 'Plated' title! I'm going to ride it for a bit and then do a super-moto build with it being that it can be plated.
Again, thanks!

Pit Row
I ended up with a second 92 during the resto process and thought a modernized version would be fun to put together. Just getting the finishing touches done now. You can see my write up in this one over in the bike builds section.
Wow, I really like the "modernized version" you built too! Looks slick. I'm finally getting the last bit of parts together and starting my '92 CR125 Peak build. Which Pro Circuit silencer did you end up using on your first build? I don't see it mentioned in your posts. Any help is greatly appreciated!
