25 YZ250F Reliability

I’ve got almost 30hrs on mine & haven’t even adjusted valves yet….

I recently bought a 25 250FX and coming from 20 + years on KTM/Husky bikes I love this Yamaha. Handling is so much better than the Austrian bikes and the motor rips. 

What specifically have you seen about the 250? It's essentially the exact same motor as the '21 but with a beefed up cam chain, different intake and ecu/harness? I haven't really seen anything about them being unreliable (unless you start modding heavily.) And the '25 had no motor changes. The only complaints that I have heard were some of the electricals sometimes having water in them and acting up but that happened all the way back to '14.

My last several Yamaha 250Fs have been very reliable. 2021,2023, and 2024. 

no offense but that isnt anything special. our 2021 yz250f had 108 hours when i sold it and never had a valve adjustment

theres not much difference between 25 and 21-23 other than a heavier timing chain and cam/crank sprockets to match. Our 2021 had 108 hours on it when i sold it and never needed a valve adjustment. For half of those hours my fat ass rode it in the sand and the second half was ridden by a rev happy 14 year old
