Our top supposed top three riders have been sent in past years. Every year we get shitty finish, and shitty excuses. I'm sick of hearing our riders say how happy they are with their mid pack finishes! at least this years riders will fight until they can't fight anymore!!! All 3 of them are grinders! Especially Keast. That guy is like the Energizer bunny with with a killer attitude! I predict a no worse finish this year than in past years when our top guys have gone. I will be happy with that.
As for that old interveiw with Marilyn Bastido of the CMA... what a crock of shit!!!! They handle one hare scramble at the steel city club track, and have only one lame assed MX club under their wing. No surprise, it's the steel city riders club again. The best thing that could ever happen to Canadian MX is for her, and the entire CMA farce just to fuck off and retire their sorry old asses.
dwarf ,i couldn't agree more on the KEAST thing ,but really your judgement of the cma is seriously clouded and a conflict of interest in your case.
Do you really think everything would be better if the cma was gone .With just the cmrc what would membership costs rise to,what about the phantom insurance policy,,the cheesy rider payouts and the communistic ways thats its run.Competition is and always will be better for everyone regardless of where you stand .Truth is our motocross in Canada is a joke and its only this way from the politics that precede it .If the democratic process was followed in the last few years instead of the autocratic ruler that is now in place do you think th government would have made the cmrc go to a corporation ??????,a not for profit organization is just that and there are laws and rules abounding them ,they weren't followed and hence the cmrcorp.Obviously there was some serious profits there and as a member i feel those were stolen from me and i'm not the only one that feels this way .
The MX DES NATION is a race put on by the FIM and not the CMA so don't shit on them ,they do as much as they can with the resources they have .Now if the cmrc were to co-exist [sans ego ]with the CMA and do this together then we could send a team to be proud of .
Another point dwarf, the cmrc can't even produce a stolen radio show without its founders help how are they gonna organize a big race.........

Killerdwarf. I'm a giant fan of this race. Maybe it stems back from my pops and how into the Des Nations he was and how crazy he went when we finally started going to it and won it in 81. Ever since then for me it's the biggest race of the year. I think every country should send their very best for the fans. This is a race designed 100% for the fans and when a country or team doesn't go or support it I feel like they're fucking the fans. Just like Italy this year is BS too. Nobody has to agree with my passion for this race it's just how I am.

I'll see you guys in Lakewood either way.

I would not agree with the statement that we've sent our three best riders in the past and have gotten shitty results.

At Budds Creek, I don't think Morgan was the clear third guy to go but he went and I think Canada got 11th or something. Not bad.

In Leirop the team scored a seventh without the three best guys (I may be wrong but I don't think that year we sent our best either)

In '86 we didn't even send THE ROSS and still scored a great finish. My point is that we have RARELY sent our clear cut three best guys and that's sad really.
Hey now! Lierop was JSR, Morgan, Klatt. Definitely the three best guys at the time.

Oh and the cmrc would send Gauld, Travers and Koster so I don't think that will help our cause.

ODB, with that post you clearly show you have NO idea what you're talking about, or anything about the CMA or CMRC. I don't know everything about what's going on there, but I do know more than alot of people pretend to know. The CMA needs to go. The sooner they go, the better all forms of Motorcycle racing will be in Canada. They are holding us back with their old, and stubborn attitudes. If the CMRC were to ever send a team to the MXON, you can bet your ass that it would be an effort to be proud of, and that I do know for a fact.

I'm sure a lot of the Americans would love to see those 3 there as announcers!

One thing these guys may not appreciate is the bad PR all this infighting brings. I live in Calgary and I don't shop at BF nor do I attend the local National.

...and I still haven't heard one good reason why any Blackfoot riders couldn't be on the team even if the Blackfoot rig wasn't going - there's still a rig (rigs?) and team going. I'd have to think it kind of sucks for them too.

I wonder about that same thing. I'm pretty sure Matthes asked the question but Jason Mitchell dodged the answer like a finely tuned politician. I'm sure there will be plenty of factory Yamaha support down in Co. to give support to the blackfoot Canadians if needed. That's why I said in my earlier post that there's allot to this nobody is telling.

It's simple. The race is too close to the Montreal SX on the callendar. The Blackfoot riders are contracted to race there for thier sponsors, and to win that race in the backyard of Royal Distributing, who they compete with in the mail order biz up here.

To have everything ready for both events is too much for BF, they will never shit where they eat (Canada), regardless of what the fans think.

that may be true , but the fans are their customers too . like curmudgeon said , its getting real hard for me to support blackfoot , when they hire the best four riders , and none of them can race the TO sx or the mxdn .

Screw Blackfoot.

After reading Matthes' interviews it seems pretty obvious that Blackfoot is holding their riders' back for one reason or another.

What if a Canadian team like blackfoot said fuck the nationals and just raced the Toronto SX and MXdN instead. Would they get more press/hype/cdn fans in just two weekends? 40,000+ (and TV) just at the Toronto SX alone. Just throwing that out there.

I'm not buying that.

Wasn't it just last year that Colt did a last round or 2 of the AMA nats after the Canadians ended? On his race bike? Without the rig? Pretty sure the riders & their bikes can get from Colorado to Montreal in a week.

And I'm pretty sure we'll see some of the guys that are doing the MXoN racing at Montreal.

And they did just shit where they eat with all this BS, big time...

Its not about the riders, it's about BlackFoot.

What happens when (if) Cold goes to the Des Nations and puts in a top 5 finish? Think BF can re-sign him? Not a chance, so why expose him to better competition when he can kill everyone in Canada? Protecting their investment. (cash cow)

you only know what they tell you dwarf ,you can't hear really whats goin on because someone has ahold of your ears and is pulling tightly, there is so much bullshit goin on in the cmrc i don't think either body is the answer ....the answer is the vote needs to go back to the riders and motox is 30 years behind every other sport in having a voice from the participants.......
Read the interviews and look for the answers ,oh yeah there are none ,your crew has instilled a gag order and its not for the riders its all about the top and always has been .Im sure at first stally had the riders interests at heart ,but once he saw the cash roll in he couldn't help himself ,then the narcism started and he wants control of everything for himself not for the betterment of the riders or the sport ,its so he can make more money .Canadian motox needs to be a democracy and not an autocratic ruling we have now .Let me remind you the CMA has kept their ''not-for-profit status ,how about the cmrc .....their money doesn't go back into the sport does it .
If you can't see this clearly ,you surely have been blinded by the shit stuffed into your eye sockets..........don't drink the koolaid dwarf

You are full of shit. Get off your high horse about the CMRC raking in the cash. It's really none of your business how much they do or don't make. Why are you expecting everyone to work for free anyways? And if you think for one red hot fucking moment the CMA isn't making it's executives a, well then you are blinder than that bat that struck you upside your fool head!

in canada a club or association is allowed to carry over 20% of its membership dues as profit ,if the level goes higher they can no longer be a non- profit organization .........now if the profits were goin back into the sport as rider payouts ,equipment purchases etc.etc. ,these would all be expenses ,which in turn would keep the profits down ....had this happened ,it would still be one .\ The rider license cost goes up all the time and so did the profits ,at 140 what do you get in return . I have no poblem with stally or anyone else taking a reasonable salary for their work. The problem being is the cmrc started as a membership driven club and now its a corporation .Lets make the sport better not more expensive .Instead of being forced to pay for a shitty outdated magazine subscription with a membership how about buying transponders for the regions who race under the cmrc umbrella ,that wouldn't make sense would it .....killer-daa-warf. And yeah i guess with the purchase of a cmrc membership card i guess it is my business how much is made. Like i said ,maybe the CMA is not the answer to the shitstorm that is canadian motocross ,but at least they aren't turning their backs on the fans and country by publicly belittling the race and the CMA s efforts to get riders there.I personally applaud the CMA 'S efforts to get a team there every year .What has the cmrc done but fuck over the hopes of the diehard fans with their petty bullshit and narcistic inner workings with riders and teams alike . Who the fuck in their right minds wouldn't be ecstatic to pull the sweater adorned with the Canadian flag over their shoulders and ride their ass off for nothing other than Canadian pride and a long lasting memory. Next time out ask our top three if they didn't want to be there....................i don't think their answers will surprise anyone!!!!::Woohoo

CMA's effort? they do nothing for the sport of motocross. if they were so good for the sport non of the teams would of left that shit show to go to the cmrc. if it wasn't for stallybrass I can just imagine what are nationals would be like right now, the cma is suck a joke and if anything thinks other wise they werent around in the 80's and 90's to see for them self...

I'd say Dean Wilson made a wise choice electing to ride for Team GB. But then again, I do say that as a Brit Wink

It's also a shame Canada couldn't send there three best guys as there top team would be capable of finishing around the top ten.
