I also did not watch live, I just stay away from most news things. The next day I might watch the highlights. The more I see what happened last night makes moisture dribble out of my eye. Not sure what is causing that, happiness for the guests or fear and anger for those sitting?

I’ve seen things like this referred to as virtue signaling on here, but this must be different for some reason.
Very happy that this young man has been able to beat cancer thus far and I pray that he continues to be on the victorious side of that battle.
I wish that he would have been introduced with the news that we had increased funding for cancer research, or that all children would have coverage to help fight diseases like this. I guarantee that everyone would have stood and clapped for those announcements.
If it was Trump and his administration that had done it (increase cancer funding or childhood medical coverage), then their actions would not have been any different.
