If you were at all familiar with how the takeover of Twitter was done this is following almost an entirely parallel playbook. At this point I don’t give a shit if he really is a big old meany and somehow comes out of this with a few hundred million is extra contracts for Space X and Tesla, Doge is on track to save taxpayers trillions of dollars. Maybe there are thousands of CPAs who “could” be doing the same job as Elon and his team, but this is the real world and “could” doesn’t mean shit, results do and Elon produces them.

It's not a conflict of interest for me and the majority of Americans for the simple fact that ELON is not a Federal Bureaucrat. They are going after Federal Bureaucrat spending/abuse mainly. That means that if a Fed Bureaucrat was in charge of Doge it would then be a direct conflict of interest. But Elon isn't a Bureaucrat. And really you aren't going to find anyone else as good willing to do the job that needs to be done for free and done swiftly. Really,as shady as some politicians here in the USA are ,any Fed budget/.spending approval should be on the ballot and approved by us voters. Congress approving their own budgets for money they want to abuse and have abused is the real conflict of interest. Sure they were voted in to represent us ,but rarely do any represent us. Well, one thing to consider is he is wielding the power mostly out in the open. That seems much better than those who have done so in the shadows in the past, and most likely still do.
In the long run it may all be a big ruse, but my hunch tells me it's not.
My opinion - Musk seems like the type who, if he could clean up US government fraud, corruption and waste, but lose everything and end up sleeping on someone's couch in a run down mobile home somewhere, he would be fine with that, and ready to start over.
