@yanks_78 sorry you had a bad meal at Mazatlan. I've never had a bad meal there, but I must say I haven't had steak there just mostly chicken nachos with cheese and I really like the cheezy rice, Plus they are about the only restaurant in town that serves Beer if you are so inclined.

As for the internet ..... yea we are in the country..... with hills too.....so it has much to be desired. There are a few hot spots.....like McDonalds......
just wish I could be more helpful.

Also head a report today that the Chinese restaurant in the shopping center behind McDonalds is stlll doing the buffet....... It has it's fans but i'm not one of them.

The heat is brutal today, and for the next week.
We notoriously have hot weather in August, and some rain.
But, this year is exceptional....... Be cautious and stay hydrated!!!!

See you at the races !!!

MADE IT TO DICKSON
(Fuck, I'm tired)

Dickson now has a Logan's Roadhouse at I-40
Good tohear that you arrived safely. Not a fan of Logan's. Please tell me the buffet (farmer's family restaurant was the name, I think) is still open in Dickson.

I'll see you and buddy either wednesday or thursday

yanks: log Cabin is definately the dining choice in the area. Expect to see people waiting for tables as the week progresses.

OKAY I am sooooo excited..I am leave in the morning..and should be finishing up my packing, but I had to see what activities I need to NOT miss this week. (By the way....GREAT info list)

It has been about 15 yrs since my last trip to LL's and about 19 since I saw Robbie race there last. So this is going to be a great week! My parents are going to be there too...so this will be just like the old days....except now we are OLD! :-) Soooooo RRsis will be there..I hope to get to say HI to some of you!! Safe travels everyone and I can't wait for a great week of racing!! ;-) wooooooooooo

Farmers Family Restaurant is a favorite when in the Dickson area, go east of LL's exit and turn Exit 172, I-40 go over the overpass and you'll be on Hwy 46 turn right onto Christy Dr. They are beside McDonalds and behind Cracker Barrel.

There are several places to eat out at the interstate in Dickson, but, if you go a few miles north of the interstate you'll find Shoneys, Captain D's, Long John Silvers, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, Sonic, Krystal, Wendys all the typical fast food places you could want.

The also have a Super Wall Mart much larger than the one in Waverly, plus all kinds of places to shop, including Kroger, K-Mart and Food Lion.

Another way you can get to Dickson is by going east on Hwy 70 from the "by-pass" in Waverly. It's 25 or so miles, but it's on a less than desireable state road, so it takes about 30 minutes to get there.....

The Log Cabin is the place to eat at the interstate. They ofter have a wait, but people don't usually mind. It's really popular with the after church service bunch. Loretta Lynn's Kitchen is out there too, I'm not a fan of the reataurant ..... if your starving I guess you could give it a try if everything else is packed.

I would guess that Dave is staying at the Hampton Inn. Those of us on a tighter budget (myself) will be staying at the "luxurious" motel 6.
bruce

Hope to see you (and Robbie). Robbie's last championship was my 2nd year of going to the ranch. I was cheering for Rand (sorry, but I had to cheer for the local talent).

Lumpy: Did you make a wrong turn??? S Carolina to the ranch should only be about 500 miles, I thought.

I'll see you at the Chickenfest, if I don't find you Wed or Thurs.

Looking forward to seeing Bruce, Lump, RRSis...oh, and Dave.

Leaving at 5-6am in the morning. Sleeping in the garage of a toy-hauler. Should be interesting. Anything for motocross, eh?

You aren't kidding, anything for motocross, eh?

At least you get to sleep on the drive there, I'm leaving in about 3 hours, driving solo thru the night...deciding if I want a last minute nap, or if the sleep last night and a short nap this afternoon will work. Anyway, I will see those that are already there in the morning.
