Admittedly Trump is tackling the low-hanging fruit.  While it’s somewhat entertaining to watch these aggressive actions take place at lightning pace, the aggregate effect is like you or me canceling out Netflix subscription. Sure, it helps, and feels good for a bit, but the long-term substantive impact is negligible. 

The real challenges, as mentioned above, are entitlement programs and defense.  This is where Trump’s fellow Rs can and will push back. Foreign aid programs are fair game; come after granny’s Medicare or the local naval base and things get nasty.  And red states are swimming in both.

Go after the low hanging fruit, have some success, people's eyes get opened some, or more, and get behind it to a greater degree, and then move up the ladder for higher fruit. That means more people putting pressure on their representative.

I agree. We also need time to assess the impact of these changes. It’s not a zero-sum game; there will be positive and negative repercussions, both expected and unexpected. Most will have negligible impacts on citizens in the short term.  But it’s definitely worth trying.

Interestingly enough, the Fed could make significant impact if it simply capped expenses at current rates. Every year the budget grows, and every year we go further into debt. Coupled with manageable inflation, our debt burden could be halved in a few years.  But the Executive can only do so much. Is Congress gonna give up their share?  We both know the answer to that question. 

You hear that?  It’s the sound of a can being kicked down the road.  In 4 years Trump will be gone, and Congress will be slinging the same old hash.

The U.S. president, whose administration is pressing for a rapid end to Ukraine’s war with Russia, said on Monday he wanted Ukraine to supply the U.S. with rare earths and other minerals in return for financially supporting its war effort. “If we are talking about a deal, then let’s do a deal, we are only for it,” Zelenskyy said, emphasizing Ukraine’s need for security guarantees from its allies as part of any settlement.

Ukraine floated the idea of opening its critical minerals to investment by allies last fall, as it presented a “victory plan” that sought to put it in the strongest position for talks and force Moscow to the table.

“We need to stop (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and protect what we have – a very rich Dnipro region, central Ukraine.”

Zelenskyy said less than 20% of Ukraine’s mineral resources, including about half of its rare earth deposits, were under Russian occupation.

Your argument is nothing more than emotional projection, completely devoid of facts. Let’s break it down.

Second, your claim that Musk has turned Twitter into a "far-right sounding board" is laughable. Musk himself has stated multiple times that he supports free speech across the political spectrum, and his own political stance is more libertarian than traditionally conservative. The fact that the platform now allows voices that were once suppressed doesn’t mean it’s "far-right"; it means it's no longer an echo chamber for leftist ideology. If allowing open discussion feels like a right-wing shift to you, maybe that says more about where you stand than where Twitter does.  

Third, your whining about Rogan and Poole is just nonsense. They, like many others, called out Twitter’s previous censorship because it was real and well-documented. Now that Musk has removed many of those suppressive policies, the problem *they were fighting against no longer exists*—so why would they keep complaining? Unlike you, they actually respond to changing circumstances instead of clinging to a victim narrative.  

Finally, your attempt at a "gotcha"—"Now bow down to the billionaires!"—is pure projection. You had no issue with billionaires like Jeff Bezos (Washington Post) or Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook) controlling narratives when they aligned with your views. But the moment a billionaire stops suppressing opposing opinions, suddenly it’s a problem? That’s not principled; it’s just hypocrisy.  

The truth is simple: free speech advocates fought against censorship when it was happening. The left only cares about it now because they lost their stranglehold on the narrative. You weren’t "conned"—you just can’t handle a world where your ideology is no longer the only one allowed to speak.
