Seems this was definitely an easter egg and purposeful move in my opinion with what we're seeing now...
Yeee haw.
Give me a starter button and I’ll be building an enduro out of this.
OP.....your thread aged very well. You hit the nail on the head and a lot of us are eating crow when saying "never"...who would have seen this coming.
One other thing I noticed in hindsight is recently we had a Science of Supercross that showed the King going up against AC on a 2-smoker.
Can't find that episode....
That was from A1.

Lots of speculation. I will be disappointed if it is not an MX bike. Do we know it will only be one bike? I hope they release a 125, 250, and another bigger displacement. Why settle on 300? 325 or 350 or 375 cc’s would be awesome! And I hope they follow Yamaha’s lead and make off-road versions too. When will we know?
If they simply put together a 125 and 250 they will sell out.
Mathes said in the review pod that he was told it is a race bike, and as mentioned, hopefully come out this year.
MC, do that over again with you on your 2 stroke and him on a 250f. Then it's apples to apples. Even the hp numbers listed would be close.
Probably see a reveal around RedBud is my guess. Availability late 2025 or sometime in 2026.
Id put money on a 125. They need to bring down the cost of this sport to retain/attract young adults not the vet riders with money.
Don't want to talk nonsense, but I think a two stroke comeback will take place. Why?
-Kawasaki patented some two stroke engine for other applications, and now they announced they are coming back with a dirt bike.
-Honda did the same thing a while ago, with a new patent for a two stroke engine.
-Suzuki even went further a couple years ago, building in house a RM 250 AF, and then a RM 125 AF.
-Yamaha simply kept them alive, and right now the YZ's are some of the best bikes ever.
Maybe my love for two strokes makes me delusional, but why did all the Japanese bikes now switched to a central cradle frame that can accomodate a two stroke pipe? I hope Kawasaki sells a shit ton of them, and hopefully the others will follow. What a time to be alive.
The split frame allowing for a center exhaust helps four strokes too. I think it was the latest Science of Supercross where Mitch Payton explained the benefits for the new 250. I would not use that frame as an indication of pending two strokes.
Realizing that this is an MX centric forum but for those not familiar with off road racing - 2T bikes are still extremely popular in most markets and dominate in some. In central Texas they dominate the market.
