When your favorite cheese block has a nice green fuzz growing on top of it, what do you do?

Replace scrape with cut and you're golden.

A bit of mold adds to the flavor!

The favorite ice cream thread wasn't broached, it just evolved!

But, since you asked, scape the fuzz and chow the fuck down.

Wombat noticed, and I'm just doing my thing:

*Broached.

To Broche is to weave with a raised figure, as in embroidery. 😉

There seems to be a current fad on Vital to purposefully mess up spelling or use "similiar" looking words as a gag.   Mostly seeing it in moto.

Not sure if Seemefirst was doing that or it's an honest mistake.

Anyway....to answer the topic question.

I like my cheese the way I like my women....  shave the fuzz off before chowing down. 🐈

Cheese can fuck all the way off unless it's a slice of American on a burger.

1/24/2025 8:50am

I'll do the sniff test first. If cheddar smells like swiss, it's in the trash. I do have a brick of limburger I need to consume this weekend.
I live in the land of cheese production, so it's a staple in my diet. lol

If it’s available, try Tillamook sliced cheddar. I love that stuff

Tillamook cheddar is crazy good.

I make a killer breakfast bowl; slow fried potatoes, minced sausage, sunny side up eggs, sliced avocado, quick pickled red onions, cilantro, dash of franks red hot sauce, dollop of sour cream, and a hardy helping of freshly grated Tillamook medium cheddar.

Fucking delicious.

+++++

EDIT: Can anyone recommend a good coffee grinder? Ours broke. Not looking to spend a fortune but willing to spend money on quality. Gracias.

Cheddar, American, Colby Jack, Parmesan, those I can do, but man I just can't do anything else.

If im going to spend a couple bucks

OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder,

You can find deals on them there 95.00 but can find the for 70-80. Good even grinds and can adjust the grind to your liking. Course for faster brews, finer for more flavor and as much caffeine as you can get.

Be careful I belive your smart enugh to know this already but alot of people don't. Finer grounds obviously take longer to make it into the cup as they pack in and slow the water flow down. I'v  gotten calls from friends that that they or their ladys flooded their counter. Lol

If im going cheap basic but reliable just a basic kitchen aide. There like 40-50.00

Dope, thanks dude!

One friend recommended the "OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder" and another recommended the "Opus Conical Burr Grinder". We're coming from the cheap kitchen aid world so I don't know much about the higher end stuff but I can't imaging the Opus (at twice the price) is that much different than the OXO... at least not different enough for my dumbass to notice a difference.

I'v e gotten calls from friends that that they or their ladys flooded their counter. Lol
Sounds exactly like the first time we tried our espresso machine, haha.

My wife: "Is it packed hard enough or not hard enough?"
Me: "How the fuck would I know, I'm not a barista!"
My wife: "I'm just going to try it."
Me: "Let it rip"
(two minutes later)
Both of us: "Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Turn it off! TURN IT OFF!!"

I've never heard of a "nitro high rise from caribou" but upon googling it a) it sounds delicious and b) attempting to recreate it sounds like a hell of a weekend build.

My go to is an ice americano with oat milk so my shit is suuuuper easy to recreate.

I love me some cheese. Sharp cheddar, maybe even extra sharp is the shiznit. I always want more mozzarella on my pizza and I've been known to sprinkle some gorgonzola bits on my steak. Blue cheese salad dressing rules, and don't even try to serve me Greek food without some damn Feta. That Feta stuff'll make me eat almost anything if you put some on top.

Dude!

I had sharp cheddar on a baked potato a few years ago for the first time and HOLY SHIT did it open my eyes up to sharp cheeses. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a cheese – let alone a cheddar – could kick you in the teeth and be smooth at the same time.

You ever goon around with spicy feta? God damn is it good.
