Hey All,
Hoping I can get some help. I have a 14’ KX450 that is used as a snowbike (timbersled kit) and the stock forks (rebuilt 1 ride ago by local shop when I bought the bike) lost nearly all their air after a 2 hour ride. I think snow/ice got past the seals and leaked air
From my research 2010-2012 KX450 spring forks will bolt right up. What about 09? And are there any other springs fork that will bolt up? The used 10-12 forks seem to be pricy
2006 - 2012 stock KX450F 48mm KYB spring forks will bolt right up. I believe 2007+ had DLC lower tubes, 06' only was chrome. Minor internal updates through the years, but infinitely better than dealing with PSF1 or TAC air forks in your intended application. Cheers
Thank you for the info. The 06-09 spring forks are much cheaper than the 10-12 so thanks for confirming!
Are the KX250 forks the same as the 450?
I have a 14 with air and an 06 roller. I'll swap those out and see how I like the springs. I don't care for the air.
I don’t believe so. I’m pretty sure that era 250 had SFF Showas.
I had 09, 11, and 13 450s-the 09 and 11 spring forks were basically identical as I recall.

The 09-12 fork bolts right on and is the same basic fork as the Yamaha forks everyone raves about. Yamaha has their own valving, but nothing a tuner can’t do to that fork. They are both KYB AOSS forks.
Post a reply to: Spring fork for 14’ KX450??
