Hey everyone,

I am having issues with my suspension on my CRF 250R 2024. I've tried everything to get the bike to be comfortable with the standard showa springs but it's just unobtainable πŸ™„ I'm a 5ft, 73kg woman rider and honestly at the stage where I am thinking about buying new springs πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« I'm really trying not to buy new ones as over here they are extortionate. I was reading up about taking 5ml of oil out of the front forks but I don't really want to drop the forks to get the oil out. Has anyone tried to get the oil out the forks without dropping then down? I was looking at popping a wee pipe down the screw at the top but I'm not even sure taking the 5ml will be beneficial πŸ™ˆ

Any advice would honestly be super appreciated πŸ‘

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day πŸ₯°

P.s. I also have a youtube channel which shows me working on the bikes (I have 7 πŸ™ˆ, some classics too!) Im always after some help but also no pressure though if thats not your thing - https://www.youtube.com/@motoxmini

At your weight the springs should be good. Everybody complains the forks are too stiff in your range unless they are really fast or really slow. It needs to be re-valved for you.

Dropping the oil you will feel almost nothing in the first half of the stroke and then it ramps up. The oil level controls how much travel you use and end of stroke. It also adds a bit of holdup. 5Ml is a very small change.

I watched your video. Nice riding. Your springs are fine.

In what way is the bike uncomfortable?

Thank you so much for your advice. I only seen this after I took my front forks to a shop. The forks were topping out really bad, so the shop thinks that the wee springs might be crushed but are having a look at them to find out the issues 😊 getting them re-valved too. I didn't realise they were topping out until a few days ago, I'm guessing they've been getting progressively worse as I was riding πŸ˜‚

I'm just thankful that It wasn't just my riding that was at fault! Haha! Hopefully I can ride a little more comfortably with them all fixed 😊

Many thanks again for your help - Gillian πŸ’•

Glad you ended up going the correct path. Please let us know how you like them. The forks are the bikes only major shortcoming if they are not working for you stock.
