I didn’t agree with him on too many things to count; but, I always felt he was a gentleman.

RIP, Good Sir.

RIP, Good Sir.

He was in over his head as POTUS, but his heart was always in the right place. His work post presidency is very commendable.

He always struck me as a good man. Respectable, did his best and what was in his heart. Can't ask for more then that.

Hopefully in this in-between time of presidents he can get a proper send off.

There’d be no Nuclear Navy if it weren’t for Mr. Carter.

Probably a good man but that’s easy to buffalo American people on. Terrible president though . Best thing about his 4 yrs was his hillbilly brother Billy starting Billy beer to make money off his lazy brother.  The 1st real anti  blue collar president .  Inflation and prices of everything shot to the moon . Kinda of like now.  I did projects for the government & hv been in DC a lot . People no idea of how Huge the government is . I,m just south of DC now .

Paraphrasing:

"He put a bad presidency behind him, and went on to continue being a good human being".

I'll add,

If he were 15-20yrs younger, he would be tirelessly spearheading rebuilding groups in N.Carolina as we speak.

Carter was a compromise candidate among waring factions within the Democratic Party.  The South was still dominated by very conservative democrats, while the NE US was far more left-leaning. This during a time where trust in politicians was at an all time low.

Carter also chose to belief that men are innately good. His trust that world leaders would “do the right thing” was foolhardy, highlighted by Russia’s invasion of Afghanistan. He did broker a peace between Israel and Egypt, but even that success came at a price.

Trump may be the leader we need, but Carter is the person we should aspire to be.

We should all be so lucky to be remembered this way!
