Correction Jett is the modern day JMB, Bayle is the OG smooth SX racer where it didn’t matter where he started he just found a way to win the race! I know Darkside just started an online poll asking us to decide who was the better premier class rookie in SX and I believe there is not an accurate answer for that but I would like to mention MC won most of his 1993 races with a holeshot or damn near the front every time. If Jett is in the top 10 off the start he has a chance! Same went for JMB watch the following race in the link attached, imagine if we were spoiled with a race like this next year! Yes please 😎

Imagine one lane of whoops followed by another lane of whoops in 2025! Oh Lordy Social Media would kick right off!
I counted JMB in 8th place on the first lap.
Watch JMB on a CR500 at the MX Des Nations in Manjimup Western Australia in 1992! Poetry in motion
Standing up everywhere he was Stefan Evert’s before Stefan Evert’s was Stefan Evert’s! They even mention how it is literally JMB’s last MX race before going to road racing. Team USA 125’s Emig, 250’s LaRocco, 500’s Liles and America still won USA back in the day was very Assey! Lucky!

JMB was wearing the Prototype Alpinestars Tech 7 in this race which was the premium boot at the time (not the same as the Tech 7 today). The 1993 Tech 7 took over from the Tech 4 which was pretty sweet itself they were flouro colours with patterns printed on the leather.

90's mx was the best.
Kurt Nicoll with the open face helmet! He pushed it out longer than Jeff Ward bloody legend 😎
JMB is absolutely in the same talent class as Jett and Jeremy, but a lot of fans kinda forgot about him because he left moto so quickly. And Mc hit the headlines right after JMB bailed (ha?) but Mc never really left the spotlight.
If JMB would have stuck around and raced a regular moto career time wise (7-10 years) we would have seen JMB vs Mc go head to head, and that would have been epic! But he went road racing.. He went from being a huge moto talent to being a top 10 road racer, and since I’m a moto fan and don’t care much about racing on pavement, I think he wasted his talent. But I don’t think he give a shit about what I think..
What a great race. Announcing was fantastic. Bikes were shitty which made the racing fantastic. Who needs great bikes and rythym sections?
Lot of people have totally forgotten that Bayle almost won the 250cc SX championship in 1990 for his first attempt (in 1989, he only raced a few SX in the beginning of the season).
In 1990, he finished second in the championship only seven points behind Stanton, with two races missed due to an injury! And he won five main events that year!
It was truly amazing for a (european) rookie !
JMB will alway’s be the only racer in AMA history to win the 3 premier championships in the one year in 1991. 250 SX, 250 MX and 500 MX. But he never won an overall in 250 MX that year, he won individual races but never an overall! In fact JMB never won an overall AMA 250 MX race crazy 🤯
But the legend did get 3 MotoGP pole positions 1 in the 250cc class and 2 in the 500cc class 😎
Actually I think I am incorrect I think he won an overall at Gainesville in 89 or 90 on a Privateer PC Honday with a 2-1 finish and the only reason he was racing in America was because of Roger and Mitch.
No. It would be Jett reminding you of JMB.
Jett does not have the raw speed of him IMO.
Thats not the case. Bayle won Gainesville in 1989 (1/3) and Troy in 1992 (1/1).
I corrected myself in my first post after my title so I definitely hear you 🥴 But did I just read your comment correctly you reckon Jett doesn’t have the raw speed of JMB 😂 I have too say it may be the opposite even though I just started a post stating that JMB and Jett are equals, have you not noticed when Jett is on someone he hits the afterburners and is past in the blink of an eye? No one in 2024 has that ability except for him! JMB pretty much had the same skill but like I mentioned above JMB only won one overall in the MX premier class with a 2-1 before he officially raced in America and Jett went 22-0 in the premier class in his rookie season. Honest question why do Americans think SX is the only measuring tool for success?
I stand corrected I knew it was a random finish at Gainesville for him before he moved full time to race in the states. But honestly did not realise he went 1-1 at Troy! Still have too admit for his legacy with only 2 overalls in 250 MX is pretty crazy.
Pit Row
This just goes to show how much better the racing is when it’s CLEAN!
The dirtiest thing there was Bradshaw elbow to Cooper, which was nothing by today’s standards.
Of course some in here would say those guys wouldn’t make the C class today…
Bayle won national overalls in the 500cc category in 1989 and 1991.
And won national overalls in the 125cc category in 1990.
Hey “mx addict” look above your comment I corrected myself and realised that he won in Florida but did not know he went 1-1 at Troy! I will try and find it on YouTube I am a big JMB fan.
I certainly don't but they are entitled to their opinion. Obviously you have never been at a dirt bike race JMB was in to be able to witness what I speak of. It was so easy for him he went road racing.
Incorrect my friend I was at JMB’s final race as Pro at the 1992 MX Des Nations at Manjimup Western Australia, it looked like he was walking on Water in the deep deep sand! I really hate comments like yours! “Obviously you have never been at a dirt bike race JMB was in” You sound like an absolute know it all knob 🙄 Pull your head in and humble yourself, no one likes a know it all!
You were live in Manjimup in 1992. Do you remember exactly why Bayle was not so dominant in the final moto of the day (250/500 race) ? 🤔
Did you read the comment I was replying to? Just because you are French doesn’t mean you know how JMB’s farts smell any better than I do! You are more of a d-head than any of the Yankees I have been replying to you French Floppa 🙄
One of my all time favorite races.
Multiple lead changes. JMB just sits back and waits, then executes multiple passes in a couple of straights.
And how about those whoops? Back to back whoop sections!
And you think that's the way Jett looks?
I just could not imagine that but I guess I was wrong. My apologies.
I have seen Jett struggle many times. JMB not so much.
What a race aye 😎Bloody Legends
Last word Larry goodnight mate, I wish you and your family a Happy New Year 🥳
I think you might, a pint too much mate.
Night!.
