Posted this in the other thread. Burner, Dubach and Guy Cooper racing hard in the 2014 Marty Tripes 100cc Works Revenge Race at Diamond Don's AHRMA National. Watch to the end. It's worth it!
Hate to hear this. It sure seems like he made a huge impact on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
I’ll keep his family in my prayers.
A friend said found him in his chair ..maybe heart attack...Too young! I'm 70 kinda a reality check ✔️ just talked to Scott at the Carlsbad Mx reunion😪

There would not have been a 1986 Anaheim Supercross classic if it weren’t for Scott Burnworth. Literally the race wouldn’t have existed without him. RIP.
Yup. Apparently happened shortly after he replied to a friends post on FB. One of the last things he did. His wife found him. So bummed. Such a great guy and a terrible loss. Gone way too soon. A reminder to tell your friends and family you love and appreciate them. We just never know when the last time will be..........
Godspeed Burner! You were one of the greats and a big part of my childhood. RIP..,
The Vogt family has started a GoFundMe for the Burnworth family. Every little bit helps and it is very much appreciated!

I'm bumping this thread to keep it refreshed for the gofundme link above. There was no one more passionate and committed to moto in SoCal and Scott's hard work brought/kept a lot of bikes on the track here, which as you know results in a lot of money flowing into our industry. If you donate, some of this money will likely be used to schedule one or more of his races, which also might result in keeping his series going (but no promises as we are not sure who could possibly fill Scott's shoes). Even if not, there is no donation going to a better cause than Scott's family. Come on Vital, even if you can only afford a few bucks, throw down to a great man's family who deserves the support from the moto community that he kept alive.
Very well said! I hadn't done any of Scott's races in a couple of years, very busy with my family, kids sports, along with a serious remodel and garage build. My plan was to get my KX500 dialed in again and to return to his races in 2025. Then the tragic news of Burner's passing comes to light, and it made me realize that you just can't plan on things working out in the future. I definitely could have squeezed a race or two in, and I really regret not doing so now. If his race series is to continue on, you can count me in, and I'll do my best to pull a patented Burner holeshot each moto!!
RIP burner

Bumping again. Please donate a few bucks to the good cause linked above.
Here's Burner styling on my '89. He was like a 14yr old at Christmas who just got a new dirt bike. At 61 yrs old he was always jonesing to ride and always happy to show you he could beat you on the track while riding your bike:

Well then. I thought you were Scott this whole time. Someone had told me back on the supercross.com days that Uptite was Scott Burnworth.
RIP Scott.
