Maybe Shawn knew (the back story also but try and prove it in court) he had legal title to the bike but couldn't get it unlocked. Now none of this mess is his problem.

The title sounds like it was a fake so it’s possible he didn’t know. But he could be in on it too.
I dunno lots of people jumping to conclusions ready to take a baseball bat to Shawn (great way to catch a charge yourself) and we certainly don’t have the full story.
Once police are involved the parties aren’t going to talk to each other.

There is no way a reputable dealer would only except cash on a MC transaction. Either he's trying to avoid remitting the sales tax, avoiding the transaction as income or he knew about the bike's past. Either way, he sounds like a scammer.
If I were in Shawn's position and innocent I would be talking to everybody and doing everything I can to focus everyone's efforts on finding the guy that sold it to me.

If he has a believeable story that he also got duped and the investigators are following up on it. Shouting from the rooftops he’s innocent isn’t going to help much I don’t think. It could also get in the way of the investigation. Best bet is to let it play out and once the dust is settled you can tell your story.
Or he’s guilty of selling merchandise he knew was stolen. Either way I don’t think making public statements is a good idea.

I took that to mean the title is legit but the means by it was acquired was brought into question by the Stark dealer and never verified with the DMV by the victim.
Ultimately, legally, he's on the hook for the $9500 regardless. I would have a hard time sitting on my hands in that situation . . . if I were innocent.

Shawn Guerette is in on this whole deal, otherwise why would he have not activated the computer and at least ride it? I can tell you why because he knew it was stolen to start with.

At least we can feel abundantly confident that now that the matter is in police hands, they will quickly and accurately discover any crimes committed, and facilitate justice and restitution to any aggrieved parties.

Well, it's already been stated by O.P. that there's both a fake identity and fake documentation involved in the case. At least that's the criminal claim of the complaint, and we all can rest assured that they'll be investigating that at great depth.

Correct. There's allegations by a dealer that I'm sure will be closely looked into, and O.P. will get no runaround or responce of, "Nothing we can do about that."

Shawn finally responded claiming to not know it was stolen. I’ll take that for what it’s worth knowing how many lies have already been spun so far by that guy. Apparently the money has already been spent. Go figure!
The bike was definitely reported stolen by Coyne motorsports back when the fraudulent activity occurred back in August. They are not the bad guys in any of this.
I got a call from the detective leading the case who was very helpful and also thankful to finally have some resolution to this at least for the dealership. Apparently he’s been working on this case for months and is now heading in Shawn’s direction.
And finally a bit of potentially positive news, I’ve heard from Stark, which I believe this thread maybe had something to do with. 😊 All I’ll say so far is that they really do seem to be an unbelievably cool company. I shall keep you all updated as this rollercoaster unravels.
