Hey guys !

I've seen a lot of things about those bikes. I personnaly own a CRF 250 2023. I really enjoy the engine but as i'm not a fast rider, confort is everything. I would prefer exploit an engine that is less good i would say, and have way much more confort.

The 2023 even with revalve and some work is really difficult to set up from track to track, even with suspension preparation. Chassis is really rigid and suspension feels stiff. Honda knows about this and said they worked for the 2025 model.

I've seen a lot of review of the 2021 and 2025. I'm thinking about switching to one of those to get back this plush feeling and confortable suspension. My feelings get more to the 2021 because i would learn better on this bike, chassis and suspension apparently are really good.

Do any owner of the 2025 that had a 2018-2021 generation  by the past have any opinion on this ? What do you guys think ?

If you want the best CRF250R, get a 25’ CRF250RWE. It’s going to be expensive but also the most trick. Similar ergos and feeling to your 23’, just more refined with a little bit bigger setup window and better baselines out of the crate. If you like to rev, and I mean really rev, like the look of dual pipes, and want the most comfortable seat, get that 21’. The 22’ - 24’s really aren’t bad with proper suspension tuning and choice aftermarket mods…

Hey man !

What aftermarket mods do you think ?

I’ve seen people talking about FC linkage but not a good idea as it deforms the shock so bad idea long term.

Maybe some other triple clamp for the fork ?

What mod had the more effect for you ?

23.5/24mm triple clamps, Pro Taper Evo bars, glue on grips, good seat foam and cover go a long ways on your 23’ CRF

I think it would be more about feel into your hands than changing the triangle. Evo bars have a good amount of flex built into them, without sacrificing strength. So that, with glue-on grips (vs lock-ons that many ppl use now) takes away unwanted harshness from the chassis. I run that set-up on my YZF, which is already more plush than a Honda, so I imagine it would be a good idea on a Honda.

If I was going Honda again I'd do a 25.  I've never been on one but I've read about all there is to read about them.  25 will be a good year for Honda, be a good year for others too.  25 green bikes will be good, same for 25 Husky and Beta too.

I've never warmed up to my 23 250R, although it feels like a million dollars when you sit on it.  I ran through a couple of different rear springs before I got it somewhat right, but its so different from track to track.  I've kicked around the idea of throwing a Luxon triple clamp, but for what it cost might as well taking a sure enough beating on it and get a 25 or something else.  My 23 is at the Beta dealer on consignment, I know the owner.  We've had a lot of calls but no real players.  I loose 10% for him to sell it but I don't have do deal with scammers and he can get it financed for a buyer.  Used market is tough and lots of 22-24 Honda R's for sale.  One of the dealers had a like new 23 250R with 10 hours priced at $5995 a while back.

I'll give mine till the end of the year to sell.  If it doesn't sell by then I'll bring it home and either throw a clamp on it and keep or drop the price below 6k and try and flip on Facebook Marketplace.  My next new 4 stroke ride will be a 450RX.  I have a 300 RX and its a dang good scooter.  Beta makes good stuff along with a really good dealership to deal with.

Yeah 2025 seems good but i've seen some people talking about that harshness, it's apparenty not totally gone, maybe in one year when people will break in the bike they will complain about it. That's the thing.

I'm really thinking of that CRF 2021 might be better out of the box for comfort
