Been working on a second fuel tank. Received the decals today and finished the sanding/polishing. Not sure if I'm going to part with it or not just yet.

Got the engine put together and in the bike today! Moving right along...

I'm hoping the damn thing starts when the time comes. The stator issues still have me worried. I put in a 1982 CDI, coil, generator, as it was said to work with the 1983 so we'll see!

Those cheap ass Chinese hoses are a bit shitty I think! I may switch back to my originals if I can clean them up. I also ordered a new DG pipe that I found on eBay. It arrives Friday.

So, I'm thinking going with a 32:1 premix in the bike when I go to run it. Do you guys think that's okay or should I maybe go harder on the oil for break-in and then to 32:1? Manual says 22:1 but I think the pre mix oils are much better these days then back then. Thoughts?

Almost there! Waiting on a few additional parts and it'll be ready to fire up. I did check spark today and do see some on the plug so my fingers are crossed! That DG pipe I bought off ebay, man was it sticky and a bit rusty. I guess from sitting around for so long.

Guys, have a question on the power valve. In the diagram below, the part circled, does this go on last to hold down the “guts” of the valve?

The part circled is a stop for the power valve. Back in the day they uses a masterlink from a chain to replace those.

Guys, can anyone recommend some wide foot pegs that will fit the 83 like the stock versions without any modification? Reasonably priced also.

Great site! Thanks, bro! I'm pretty much done on the full rebuild but have a second engine I'm considering rebuilding/fiting out.

Anyone have a cylinder head cap they want to part with?

Ok, fellas, and hoes if there are any...🤑

Anyone know where to get an engine bolt kit in black at a reasonable cost? I'm going to build the second engine I have and a new bolt kit is pretty much all I need.

Peace bros!

I don't want to do it that way! I want to buy a complete set, ready to go.
