They've already taken their soul so what's left....kidding kidding! I would love to see super pole in SX.

I'm not a fan of the cardboard tuff blocks or the foam ones, but I do think that the tuff blocks need to be redesigned to help keep riders. from catching the covers on their bikes...there has to be a better design that is both safer and allows for advertising.

Thicker heavy duty cardboard vinyl wrapped might be a good compromise.
Bit more durable than the current WSX cardboard, but still collapsible unlike AMA foam blocks, and vinyl wrapping for advertising that eliminates the covers that get caught on bikes. Maybe best of both worlds?

Superpole would be terrific.  Not specifically from WSX, but we need it.

What is the superpole?  I don't think they showed that on the broadcast?

Paris SX will do it and will be televised.

They slightly changed the superpole this year, only top 4 or 5 riders out of qualifying compete in superpole (one fast heater lap) and they can earn up to 5 championship points with it.

Sadly they did it right before the broadcast started, which doesn't make sense, it should definitely be on the broadcast.

The format in WSX was more enjoyable. I've been a superpole supporter for years, I really don't understand why Feld has been doing the same boring opening ceremonies for this long. It was cool for a while but it hasn't change hardly at all in the 30 years I've been going. They played the same Toby Keith song for a decade. I like the idea of rider coming out, introduced like now, then straight to the track for their superpole lap. I like the 3 races with each paying points more than heat, lcq, main. I also like the super final or whatever they called it. Could you imagine someone like Deegs wfo on a 250 trying to hang with the top 450 guys? Supercross here has become monotonous. Some change could wake it up a little.

As for the tuff blocks, I dunno if there is a clear answer. Landing on cardboard will always be more forgiving than dense foam. I saw a few land on them in Vancouver and they just collapsed and rider rode off like nothing happened. I imagine the foam being dense enough to tightly fit the cover over makes it less likely to snag with the bike though. Maybe custom cardboard boxes with sponsor designs on them and ditch the covers.

Does anyone know why tuff blocks were introduced?

My gut is telling me it’s for marking the limits of the track and was never about safety of the riders. In actuality they present more of a danger imo.
