Hey everyone, I am putting together my 01 Yamaha yz426f and I'm trying to find as many old school rare works parts for it as I can to make it look as close to a factory race bike from that Era as I can, I recently got lucky and a gentleman from California contacted me and had a full titanium DSP exhaust for it snd a titanium sub frame and a titanium rear shock spring... I bought it all, I am still on the hunt for a decent carbon fiber airbox. I found a couple but they were too far gone to repair, I also am on the hunt fir a pro circuit ignition timing cover, I got lucky and found the clutch cover and powder coated it black but I want the matching timing cover, I know they used to make it I have seen one. The DSP exhaust I scored is in really good condition, the guy bought it for his 426 in 2000 then took it off when he traded his 426 in for the new 450 in 03 and held onto these parts for 20 years I couldn't believe it but it does have a small dent in the head pipe, which doesn't really bother me, the DSP emblem tag has a couple paint scratches in it and I would like to have a new one custom made or find a new old stock one. Does anyone have any ideas on that? I was reading some old forums by a member called Newmann and he stated that he used to stock up on the emblems and carbon airboxs I wanted to reach out to him but I believe he is no longer with us... any help on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

Also I forgot to add once I get the DSP exhaust installed I will be selling my full FMF exhaust. FmF Powerbomb head pipe and FMF Powercore 4 slip on for 2000 to 2002 Yamaha yz426f if anyone us interested. I bought it brand new last year and has less than 5 hours of ride time on it, I originally wanted a DSP I couldn't find one but now I have. The FMF for this bike is really hard to get right now I believe, it is out of stock everywhere. I had to stalk the internet to get this one lol.

I had a 2000 yz426 with a DSP titanium exhaust and it was the loudest f'n thing I've ever heard. That bike was a straight rocket though. Couldn't turn or slow down, but that mofo would go straight like it was angry. Ended up blowing out the DSP 'silencer' and swapped it for FMF powerbomb/Q silencer and it neutered the power. Those DSP straight pipes breathe very well.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Nice looking bike and good luck finding what you want.

I have a new billet front caliper that will greatly improve stopping (and it's not grabby, very progressive). If interested, email me at:

Sweet project there!

That is an awesome story Brother! I have read online in some forums that these DSP exhausts are awesome but do not last long... I hope that's not the case with this one because I really like the look of it over the FMF and if the power situation is true as u say I'm sure I'll prefer the performance of the DSP as well.

I know right! If I could have found white plastics and tank I would have done it! I had that thought when I first started fixing her up....

Nice! I bet that bike was awesome! When I bought the FMF I was looking for a Pro Circuit, their website says they still make a header and slip on for the 426 but everytime I went on it was not in stock , backorder only and when I called pro circuit the guy could not even give me a time frame. I like FMF it's just a lot of bikes have them and I like to be different and unique when possible.

I just got done fitting the new plastics and graphics minus the gas tank, it's the original. It's still not done yet, gotta do the lower fork guards still and the lower fork tube graphics, waiting on new brake lines from Venhill... converting the front brake line to "CR" style routing. I am also waiting for the new seat cover... then from there all there will be left is just some little bits and details like new chain and sprocket, I wanna get the Twin air powerflow kit for it and a Hammerhead brake pedal to match the Hammerhead shifter.

It’s currently on one of my bikes and I don’t have the stock cover though so maybe we can work something out if you have the stock cover

Do you still have the power core 4 and would you want to sell it?
