Fair. Other than towards DC, and some members of the republican party (don't mix DC with those though) he was always rather respectful towards other message-board-members despite them often called him bad names (when they went out of arguments).

In the end both parties won, Teef got a really good job at NASA where his true mental capacity got in use while his opponents saw him leave and...

I agree about him being respectful and I've had a few discussions with him that I enjoyed that we weren't on the same side on. I got way more annoyed with his band wagoneers that jump in on the conversation and start the name calling. You're right, I don't recall him ever calling anyone names directly. He does call "groups" of people names often however.

Good dude, good photographer. Did a lot for the internet moto community. Is that a good thing?

Glad he got himself healthy and moved on... but, just like everyone, he's back! Cool

I know that when he left Motonews died.

I liked him till he went to the dark side, I don't agree with him about the octopus but he's still a good guy.

Sorry. Gotta disagree with you there. I've seen him completely lose it with people that disagreed with his POV (over the most trivial, stupid things) on many occasions. Way over the top. Throwing people off the boards, intercepting e-mails, etc.

It's what led people that even thought he was a pretty good guy, otherwise, to start staring at the ground when he came up.

I don't have an axe to grind with Steve, but his ego gets the best of him, IMO. It's what led to his bridge-torching campaign of 2007.

TFS is one of the most knowledgeable people on the moto boards. He is very smart and decided a few years back to do some NASA projects, but still remains one of the best photographers out in our sport. His real name is Steve Bruhn. I hope hes back shooting all the races.

Who is TFS

Fugg'n classic!

I predicted the topic of this post shortly after Teef left and took his ball. Pretty much right on schedule...

I still run my Apollo sig in honour of Teef though - didn't want him to entirely fade away...

No way in hell Bruhn is one of the best photographers in the sport. As decribed by someone else he was the "Sams Club" of photographers, which seems accurate. Plus, that stupid decal of himself exemplified his ego mania. Pretty douchey......

If you have not spent some time with Steve (in person) then you've missed what he is all about. He was always a stand-up guy, which I respect. Did quite a bit to help me out back in the early 2000's. We NEVER agreed on politics but he was one hell of a guy to debate
with!
He always went out of his way to help people in the industry that were in need.
I'm outa the loop but it was nice to see he was back at the glass!

TFS was/is one of the most genuine people I ever met involved in any shape, or form at the pro level.

I liked to read his stuff, I wish he was present more often. I'm just a guy from Kansas that loves inside moto news, or any moto news and rumors for that matter.

Maybe the biggest thing with TFS was his political views and how he delivered them. I think that's why people remember him mostly and why they attach either negative or positive emotions towards him. He's a clever guy, and didn't like Bush and the lies served by his administrations and he always had facts and good arguments supporting his views. He used to be active in a collage magazine when young that made a piece about Reagan, CIA and their disgusting deals in South America. It made TFS aware about the dirty political games, and that it is all about money. He usually say, "follow the money" whenever you are unsure what's happening which is of course accurate. The thing I like especially with him that he always remained calm in these discussion when his opposition often ended up in meltdowns. He liked arguing against hardcore Bush fan and liked the word "righty". Reminds me of Michael Moore. I don't remember him being wrong in any of these issues? He called the WMD a lie from the start, and OFTEN said, I told you so...

This is of course a subjective view of mine, but some might agree?

Last year he made an entry from the sport and while he did, he also claim that DC is a bad guy by being a control freak with hardcore focus on his own interests and with aggressive methods (financial) against dissidents, GP-supporters (as in work) etc. TFS exposed his thoughts rather vividly on his site Racetime. This became rather messy, and a majority of people on his former site Mototalk (that he left) thought TFS was wrong in this issue and gave DC their support. It became either you are with us or against us kind of thing.

Sums things up?
Man, seems like me and this guy would have got along great talking about Bush!

I'm still surprised that the whole industry didn't collapse when the authorities banned "Teef" from getting within 500 feet of teenage boys with his camera. He was that important, just ask him.

From what I read TFS was a guy that knew to much and would not buckle to anyone. The dude stood his ground and did the unthinkable and took a big shit where he ate. He pissed off the wrong person and in turn was black balled.

In the end it looks like TFS won the game.

And I'm sure he's reading all this and smiling.

Sheesh, right Steve?

Oh, and you're wrong about gun control and seat bouncing. (Directed at TFS)

Son of bitch is/was so far left that he should be an enemy of the United States.

Would be right at home with Hugo Chavez, Ahminihjahb, and James Cameron.

He was this big fat guy because he broke his collar bone and they cut his thyroid while operating by accident. He had a massive reverse meltdown when he found out why he was fat, but after his belly shrank he still couldn't find his dick so now he hates American flags and anyone who fought for his right to say stupid shit.
