Never thought I would hear those words out of Roger DeCoster's mouth... "Give up". There is not ONE other person that can go?

No telling. Customs is always a gamble in all countries regards to hold ups....  Anyone remember the year when the Italians put the wine and  cheese in their bike crates and they got held up until the last minute?

I asked Jeremy Coker last night and he stated that Webb's bikes haven't left yet. Even though air freight only takes one day of travel, the time in customs seem to have some I spoke to a bit nervous. They need to decide by Monday afternoon if we're still competing so bikes can be shipped.

Webb's bikes will need to be air freighted.

If Tomac says yes, they need to build two bikes on Sunday/Monday and probably have them air freighted by Tuesday.

Ty rides a Kawi. Do PC Kawi want to go?

Let's see if vital loses their collective sh*t if Eli turns it down like they did when you know who turned it down.

Hopefully, Chase isn't injured and can go. It'd be a shame to not go and take the opportunity away from AP and Webb.

Or even Julien on a 250.  I'd assume KTM could swiftly have a bike to lend him over there.

In the context of his answer, I took the “give up” comment to be more of a logistics comment vs finding a body

Thanks for the insight

Can Julien ride Chase’s 450 that’s there already? Would he want to go?

plenty to choose from 250s no? You already have 2 450 riders so why look for a 3rd one. Webb would be in a class he is currently racing on for once haha

What makes you think Mitch will have more luck combating riders getting injured? I don’t see why Deegan choosing not to race, Tomac being injured most of the year, Hymas getting injured or Sexton getting injured has anything to do with Decoster. We all know Sexton, Tomac and Deegan would have been our best team. No one can force any rider to go or prevent injuries. I just don’t see the logic behind people thinking Mitch would’ve done anything differently.

And how do you even know Mitch would want to do it? Especially with the lack of respect people give Decoster over this.

It would kind of suck being the team manager but not able to select your own riders for the team.....

Not everything is about just this current issue.  It is simply time for a change and Mitch deserves it more than anyone. IMO it should be a legit panel that discusses and works with the OEMS.  Per usual, we can't get it figured out

Barcia’s bike, mechanic and suspension tech are all still available. If they wanted to send that crew, they could. They could literally crate up his current bikes on Monday and ship them with his outdoor settings. In Europe they could test and have JR (suspension tech) set-up something specific for the race…just like they do all year.

Barcia rides pretty damn good in that sort of terrain & weather.

Because there’s nothing to figure out. Our best team would have been Sexton, Tomac and Deegan. Tomac originally pulled out of consideration due to his respect for Plessinger. Deegan did not want to go. Our next best team was Sexton, Plessinger and Hymas. All 3 were on board and ready to compete. Hymas gets injured, Sexton gets injured (maybe) so now we’re left scrambling for the next best team.

The only issue is Kawi not sending riders. Given the fact that all the other teams don’t seem to have an issue with sending riders and working with Decoster I’m gonna go ahead and assume it’s Kawi that’s the problem, not Decoster.

So you want the guy who works for the one manufacturer who refuses to send riders to the MXdN to be the manager of team USA. That makes… total sense 🙄

He's riding in England anyway at the Weston Beach Race the weekend after MXoN and said he'll probably be at Matterley to watch.

Zach Osborne is in shape and ready and will ride anything.

Last time at Matterly I seem to remember an Italian off-road racer cracking the top three in a moto.

I think that wouldn't be an issue any longer if Roger/KTM weren't the ring leaders of Team USA.

You’re so blinded by Danger Boy love that you forget about the entire industry losing their minds for years when Tomac didn’t go (I believe first declined offer was him and then following years was Kawis decision until his move to Star). Getting bent out of shape over declining the invite is most definitely not exclusive to Deegs

Alternate riders should have been asked long ago...it's done in everything else ...makes zero sense  (nonsense)
