Obviously I don't post much in here, but I often enjoy reading.
It really seems like a wonderfully diverse group posting in here, with some really knowledgeable people.
I am running a small commercial general contracting company (less than 10mil) and am thinking its time to do away with my self-made project management system and get my team on board with one of the many options available.
I'm hoping one of you might be able to help out with a referral or some advise...?
I have been been glancing over Feildwire, E-Sub and Auto Desk.
Do any of you know of others. I am mainly looking to track contract budget summary's, contingency summary's and change orders. Some type of board to track RFI's and hold stakeholders accountable.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

My wife uses Sage. They also use Procor but primarily use Sage. They are a fairly large construction company. (Probably largest auto dealership builder on the west coast). Any specific questions? I can ask and relay.

Plus one for Procore. The cost should be tailored to your annual revenue.
A lot of builders we work with use procore. Some use builder trend as well. Personally hate them both 🤷♂️
So I asked my wife Procore vs Sage. She said Sage is on your server in house vs external and possibly through a mistake give access to owners, vendors...
ProEST might be worth looking at. We did a virtual walkthrough with them. It will link up with some accounting platforms as well.
We use Procore. They charge based on contract size so smaller companies will pay less.
We use Buildertrend, but ideally you want one that has a gateway/links with your estimating software. BT doesn’t with ours.
As others have mentioned, Procore is the best overall software in my opinion and usually the one I recommend. However, it can be expensive and may not be worth the high cost incorporated into your overhead.
I have a client (about $10 million annual revenue) that uses FieldWire and had me help with a few things on it. I thought it was really good and I understand it’s not too expensive. I don’t remember whether it had any job accounting capabilities so that would be worth confirming.
The big thing to me is that with all of these things, the software tools are only as good as the underlying information that you enter into them. It can take a lot of time at the beginning of the job to setup the schedule of values, submittal log, project schedule, or any other job tracking tools. I see a lot of people that are spending the money on software like this and not really making good use of it, whether it’s because they don’t know what it can do or they don’t spend the time getting all of it setup at the beginning of the job.

Yes, we tried Buildertrend as an affordable option a few years back and it just wasn't really tailored to G.C. needs (at that time). It was more for residential contractors (trades).
Had a good intro meeting with Autodesk yesterday and will be get a run down on Fieldwide tomorrow, and then, will have another look at Procore.
Just thought I would update to let you know I decided on Procore.
