Can I interject here with some guesses?

1.)  call the cops (who have EVIL guns)

2.)  do what they say so you don’t get hurt (they probably just have families to feed)

3.)  give them credit cards and money as well

That’s the thing, you can either think from an individual in the moment level or a societal level.Individually hide and call the cops, do anything to...

That’s the thing, you can either think from an individual in the moment level or a societal level.

Individually hide and call the cops, do anything to prevent any loss of life.  No PS5 is worth a life —

Societally — how that fuck does a petty invader of a middle class house have access to a gun? Thats the problem that needs preventing… how? Well it starts with research that NRA lobbyists have payed politicians to stop the gov from doing… You only think it’s a given because the NRA pays lobbyists to ensure it is then convinces you that because they have ensured it’s an inevitability you need to have a bunch of guns to stop the inevitable.  It’s propaganda.

Oh I mean you cool look to every other developed country for some tips and tricks on how to prevent 50,000 deaths… every year.   But no you can’t do that…. No way.   That would be sensible and logical.  No no I’ll go with the syphilitic slave owners they know best.

The vast majority of guns used in crimes are stolen, or smuggled - stolen in.

You've got a pretty unique opinion here.  The hide and call the cops, sure.  Let professionals handle it, on the flip side I've seen home invasions go sideways, and good people die.  Not the criminals.  The home invader is making a choice, and thus forcing the hand of the resident.  I'm coming in, armed, and forcing the hand of the homeowner.  Protect your family, or who knows what will happen.  The criminal isn't coming to grab some cans of food, and a load of bread.  I don't wish death on them, but they made their bed.

I guess I believe that people have a right to protect their homes.  You referencing items in the home is overly simplifying it.  Nobody will ever, ever know the intent when a door is crowbarred in.  Nor will they know what that person is armed with.

Your next argument might be , well what if that individual only has a knife?  They often do even more damage that way.  We once did an exercise where we all had white t shirts on, and used highlighter pens as a de facto knife.  In the end, even the most skill, trained guys had pen on them like crazy,  so in real life, they were stabbed, slashed as heck.

Again all of these scenarios start with a petty criminal having access to a gun, stolen or otherwise…

If you feel unsafe in your own home increase your home security and demand of your local/state/nationals representatives to study and enact laws that will significantly reduce the ability for petty criminals to access legal or illegal firearms, if it’s safety your are after preventing the crime is safer than untrained gen pop pulling guns on people to save a flat screen tv or a Chevy equinox. If you feel unsafe demand higher levels of safety and not lower levels of safety.  Reduce the likelihood of ever needing to use a weapon to the point where even without statistics (which show it is not) it becomes clear that a gun in the house, especially not locked up, puts the residents are a higher risk of death by gun fire than not having a gun.

It’s amazing how instead of demanding logical action and research to make you feel safer you accept research being blocked and just want to have the opportunity to feel like hallmark John Wayne.

Every other developed country in the world is safer thanks to strict gun laws.  In Australia there’s an epidemic of luxury cars being stolen but no one is being shot and dying, now you may think that’s a negative but not Mercedes is worth killing over.

If you think my car or TV is worth more than your life then I guess I’m gonna think that too.  If you break into the sanctity and safety of my home and threaten that well fuck around and you can find out.

“SyPhIlItIc SlAvE oWnErS” “fIfTy ThOuSaNd”  I do not care, I will not be giving up the ability to defend myself and family from whoever may trying to commit a transgression against us.  The NRA does nothing for gun rights it is an organization claiming that while in reality they just take money from stupid boomers to use for their own personal devices.

I do not care about your society, your sports ball or marvel movies and tv shows.  I am an individual and my own person not part of this collective “society” hive mind you love so much.  Like most of your kind you talk from some moral high horse of “oh I will never hurt anyone even if necessary I will gladly just be a victim.”  Instead of accepting the reality that sometimes violence is necessary to protect yourself and loved ones and sometimes people die.

Sometimes… but why so many more deaths in the USA than any other developed country… why do you feel that in America these must be inevitable just not in any other developed country… weird hey?

I mean I get it that America is a world leader but accepting that as the only thing you are leading in pretty pathetic of you. Pretty anti American of you.

When people say ‘I don’t want to hear what some Australian thinks’ it’s clearly just short for ‘I don’t wanna think it hurts my brain and too much thinking might change my propaganda addled brain and I can’t have that happen, no way definitely not I’ve made up my mind and it can’t be changed no matter what, no take-backsies’.

Is that it? Am I starting to get it?

Respectfully, I've dealt with and responded to many of these personally.  I don't care much for the stats when I've seen it.

Comes off as emotional, because it takes empathy to consider needless deaths a tragedy —- and lack of empathy is the clearest sign of being a psychopath… It’s emotionless, careless and cruel.

Common sense without any intelligence would tell me that the sky is actually a ceiling painted blue and only turns to night when ‘god’ turns the lights off… and that the earth is flat…

so if all you have is uneducated ‘common sense’ and stats prove otherwise, and 50,000 people die a year… it’s insane to ‘trust your gut’ as people die. It’s pure psychopath shit.

All you have on your side is the scribblings of a group of syphilitic slave owners, and the propaganda you don’t have the mental aptitude to recognize is propaganda… and you don’t have the empathy to give a shit about 50,000 dead ‘fellow’ Americans.

Is the flat earth thing? You knows that’s been debunked right? Also the sky isn’t a ceiling painted blue but I don’t think I can share a studio that specifically says that specific thing is specifically wrong so probably can’t help you there.  But bleS that’s what you mean by ‘getting it’…. Poor thing.

You obviously don't get it and never will and we don't care what you think.

Is there any particular reason why so many Brits and Aussies come to the U.S.——and never leave? Why is that, exactly? And, funny thing, I don’t hang out on any euro/AUS forums—-yet here you guys are….

Thats weird considering a lack of empathy as you so clearly lack is a hallmark of psychopathy… weird hey

I said if you have a gun, criminals who invade a home are more likely to have a gun, and when there’s a gun in the house more people die. Stats on guns in the home leading to more deaths in the home are clear — https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9715182/ — stats on total gun deaths in US are clear..

gun in home because more gun equals more access to guns means criminals more lively to have guns because more guns equals more guns more cheap so more guns and more guns equals more dead

50,000 per year

And all your arguments combined don’t add up even close to the deaths by guns… and all of them are either more, or near the same level of restriction compared to guns…  so yeah we agree restrict guns like cannabis yeah?

Your right, let me know what its like to respond to a home invasion when you actually do it.  What part of I've seen it first hand is confusing to you?

The lack of respect you clearly have for LEO's is obvious.

Edited.  I do see your side,  not like I want everyone shot who's committed a crime.  I don't know one person who wakes up hoping to use their weapon on anyone.  I don't.

I want families safe though, no matter how hard done by a would be break and enter's life is.
