I go back and, visit family every year or, two. Just about all my friends I grew up with still live within the same neighborhood.

BB gun wars, tag, skateboarding. Making ramps out of a piece of plywood and, bricks. Then being brave enough to jump over your friends on mini trail 50’s. A few of us crashed. Myself included but, stitches usually meant it was an awesome summer. Front yard boxing matches. Riding the city bus to the beach. The best part was playing hide n seek in teams between the three culdesacs Friday night in the dark.

No TV. No cell phones. No Internet. Life was good and, I’m thankful I’m not a child growing up today.

When I was 12ish, can't remember exactly. My sister was in the Air Force stationed in Mt Home, ID. My parents let me take a bus from SoCal up to ID to go visit her. Couldn't do that today. Oddly, The bus service told her I was to get off the bus in Boise so there was nobody there at the Mt Home bus station when I got off. So, Hopped on my skateboard that I took everywhere and started my trek across Mt Home to her house. Never been there before but you gotta do what you gotta do. Got to fly in the fighter simulator on base that trip. Her (not yet husband) was an F111F pilot.

If you have gotten them to drink from a hot, sun baked garden hose, I’d have to say, you’ve nailed it. 😉

Scary thought these days.....but for other reasons.   Every hose I've seen for sale has a "lead" warning on them now.

Made me laugh because I'm taking a failing dpf off a friends truck and tuning it this weekend. Thankfully some parts of Canada are still free and will ship to the US.

Making phones with cans.

*A plastic bottle, bit of garden hose, and some tinfoil works well.

Shortly after I got my elcamino, my buddy and I are driving around town one night and he tells me to turn the ignition off for a second (while moving) and turn it back on. It'll make a loud bang and scare the shit out of the people on the sidewalk. OK, I'll try it here first. Can confirm, very loud bang, and then very loud after as it blew a big ass hole out my muffler. Fuck!

Did you ever mare it up to Escondido for cruising Valley Pkwy? Late 70s?
