Doing my 2nd top end, bought the bike used and immediately did a top end to be sure and the cyl was fine. Now 30hrs later it seems some of the Nikasil has gone away. Only in this spot though. Am I ok for another 30 hours? After this rebuild I do plan on sending it out for coating. I did measure the top, middle and lower and the cylinder is still in spec for "b". Thoughts and thank you!

Your call, I would send it out to get repaired, might save you some headache and money in the long run

Did someone run a hone through that cylinder? Cross hatching looks aggressive?

Yes the cross hatch was my doing. Ran an oiled ball hone with a drill at low speed 6 times in each direction. Yes I know there a huge debate to do or not do this method. I did this when I put the 1st piston in so the wear my have been my doing.

Thanks for the replies, ended up ordering a new cyclinder. I am going to send the old one out for plating, wasn't expecting to have a jug in rotation but I guess I do now!
