Wait, I’m confused. Why is Matthes’ new IT employee, Nick De Wolf, racing Deegan?

Would be interesting.

That’s very true, Southwick looked flat compared with a GP at Lommel.    I’m not disputing Deegan’s speed. It seems funny that people think that because...

I’m not disputing Deegan’s speed. It seems funny that people think that because Deegan won yesterday, all of a sudden he’s now the fastest 250 sand rider in the world. De Wolf grew up in the sand. He was showing Anderson & Osborne the fastest way around Lommel in 2018 when they went testing there.

On a hard pack track, who knows?

The Europeans that raced Southwick last yr said it has a lot of hard edges. I would agree that it’s a shallow sand track . De Wolf is similar to Herlings but he’s more manual the rear end and looks to time and jump ovr kickers and use them to get a boost drive off of them. De Wolf would win by 12 to 50 seconds.  Only sand riders win in sand. Same in our state the super fast southern Wi. And IL. Riders at Aztalan don’t race north of Green Bay. Because the sand riders can’t be beat. Holland is all sand my mom is from there. Plus Dutch people hv a bad temper but not all of them.  That helps to get  aggressive and you need to be aggressive in the sand.  My mom flew out of the house and fired a claw hammer across the yard at my dad leaving . She put it through the back window on the 55 chev. My uncle put his fist through the old farm house wall next to my grandpas head. A Dutch foreman on the hhg rig pu his nephew by his neck with his arm straight out. Erik Eggens or Stribos could handle Deegan easily in the sand.

Hard to say. Deegan would win in US just like De wolf would win in GPs. We saw Tom back on home turf in France. Looked damn good!

And vice-versa.

As to the original question…maybe, just maybe…we’ll get to see these guys race each other some day…maybe.

Yeah & I said Deegan wouldn’t have won if De Wolf was racing Southwick. A sand track. The downvotes would suggest that De Wolf wouldn’t have beaten Deegan on sand. Then  someone said did I watch Southwick, which implies De Wolf wouldn’t have beaten Deegan in the sand. If people are suggesting the De Wolf couldn’t have beaten Deegan then that implies he is a better sand rider.

Holy fuck dude. You need to take a critical thinking class or something.

Vialle won back to back MX2 world titles, but now you see posts that he only won because Geerts gave it to him….  That’s like saying Jett only won because Chase tucked the front too many times…. JFC people.  Then Vialle goes back and beats them at MXoN.  Give Tom the credit he’s earned as a 2 time WC.

Tom said last year that the AMA 250 class is no joke and he thinks stronger than MX2.

But, unless they race a series, we won’t know… I don’t like the results of a 1 off event used to claim who’s best…

Very misleading post. The Hardpack Frenchmen  Tom Vialle in 21 there was just coming off of an injury but good job leaving that out. Tom has won overalls at Valkenswaaad, Sardegna and Lommel. He’s a pretty damn good sand rider but go ahead and cherry pick results to make your point. I’ll be here to the entire story. Due to his GP experience people make him out to have an advantage at southwick, no one has said he’s a god.

Matterly will be a good indicator, it’s about as American as European tracks get , fast and flowing .
As people said above on a high speed ama track I would expect Deegan to win , a tighter rougher European track I’d expect de wolf to win.
ama tracks always make for good viewing with there high speed and ability to hang it out , do that on the majority of gp tracks your be in an ambulance before you can blink.

truth be told we will probably never know 😂
