Hello!

Im a 41 year old middle class driver with a 2023 SX-F 350 with a Akra and Twisted Development Vortex box. I like the bike but lately i been feeling it really wears my arms and hands out with the engine/throttle being so aggressive. I run it on the mellow map from twisted but still would like it to be smoother.

Im thinking of downgrading to a KTM 250. I never tried a modern 250 and no shops have demo and i dont know anyone that rides 250 so for me it would be a chance buy.

Can you get me some inputs? Im taking the exhaust and vortex box to the 250.

Have you adjusted the fuel trim screws on the Vortex?   You can likely make the power a little less snappy by adding 1-2 clicks of fuel.

You can install the 450 throttle cam and that will help with the throttle being so aggressive. It’s the gray cam.
The other cheap option is to go back to the stock ECU and add the CUO (sub $200 if you don’t get the GPS). That way you can build maps and tweak the throttle response to your liking.

Thanks, i actually tried the REV3 wich have a lot of different cam options, but kinda like the "long oem" as i feel the range of motion is to long for my liking otherwise.

I’m 44 and also have a ‘23 SX-F 350. What I found out was the main cause of the bike wearing my hands and arms out was the harness of the air fork over small stuff like braking bumps. I installed the 6500 kit by JBI and just like that it all went away.

For better ride          Take skid plate off   Run Xtrig bar mounts and clamps   Buy the 2025 motor mounts {available now}  KYB conversion

Yes, try 6-7 on the low and mid.

If you have the Rev-3 setup, try the grey off road reel or the Orange Road Race reel.   They are both progressive and might give you a good combo of softer initial response without a crazy long rotation all the way through.  The reels are only $5 each
