This is true.

And it looks like we are not getting the whole story.

The age to start racing pro been 16 for years, and lawyers have been around longer. The legal problem is a weak excuse.

You should pay attention to what happened in Florida a year or so ago. It was a watershed moment on the effectiveness of youth waivers. You can be sure insurers are all over it in every jurisdiction here in the states.

The gate at Loretta's is only half of it. How about doing 4 classes at each area qualifier, most do two ($10 per class going to MX Sports), 4 more classes at each regional, where the slower guys do two ($40 per class going to MX Sports). So it is not just about filling the gate at the ranch, but (in my opinion) more about riders participating in the process. If I am not mistaken MX Sports said they had upwards of 17,000 trying to qualify. I am sure that is not 17,000 riders, but entries......Seeing how MX Sports does not have to promote either the area or regional qualifier, one would think the process is more important then the race.

No, I do not think the age rule has anything to do with LL's, but LL's is a money maker for sure!

** LL’s is a first class event and I am in no way slamming it. I am also fine with the process as it does get the best 42 there. However it is expensive and not for everybody.
