Didn't he collapse his rear shock and nearly, or did, break his back?Ruined his career from then on.
Ridgway had two legs, more or less..
McGrath decided not to race. Emig on Yamaha won his first 250 sx...his first.
All facts subject to corrections.Blink

IIRC there were some racing politics going on at that time, and alot of the big name riders used the lights going out as an excuse to not ride, even though the real reason was in protest of what the promoters were doing at the time

Too small for my old eyes!

Why do I think Craig was on a Suzuki and that looks like it might be a Yamaha.

I can't find an archive of national numbers and my girlfriend can't remember his name. I'm still saying that is Stingray.

We went for Mexican after the race(2am) and after a few margaritas, guess who wanted to roll Chris' chair down a flight of stairs, with Chris in it?

You have it backwards! The riders who didn't race did so because of the lights, or lack there of. Not a single guy who qualified skipped out because of politics, IIRC. Smile

However, the AMA saw it differently!

Yep, Mike Craig could lay it flat like nobody else. Talk about "hyperspeed."
