I like all things Pulpmx but I don't know what I would say to him if I met him. Besides MX I don't have a thing...

Besides MX I don't have a thing in common with him. He's never been camping or fishing, doesn't hunt and his politics are the opposite of mine.

So I shall continue to admire from afar. I believe that is the best course going forward for both Steve and I.

He went grouper fishing with red dog’s brother in law bro

Malcolm doesnt think much of him after he slagged of his passion as stupid. Sheesh. That was a rough listen.

It’s about the same as someone who’s never ridden a motorcycle saying “What’s so hard? You just sit there and twist a throttle.”

You mean to tell me you worked so hard for all those years to become the OG, the face of moto journalism.. then when you’re a dick you want to claim “what me? I’m not a big deal”

Take some responsibility for what you’ve created and the face you put on in this sport. If you hate people that much then maybe you shouldn’t have created your net worth through interacting with people. Lame cop out for just being an asshole if you ask me.

id respect him more if he just came out and said “yeah im big time now so losing a few fans here and there because im a dick doesn’t bother me” because that’s what it really is.

100% my thoughts as well

he’s comfortable and knows that the little growth that’s left for him wouldn’t get him any higher ceilings which allows him to be a dick to people. (See Brent’s story).  It’s also my belief that the behavior he exhibited in that scenario is who he really is.  In all these years I haven’t listened to 5 minutes of anything he puts out as I can’t get past his holier than thou attitude.

yes, he’s working when at the races to gather content for the show, but also should be working to maintain a following of viewers that put food on his table.

Also listening to stories such as the "Brent - Elzinga" story could been seen as part of his job and work. Because a good story is content. Not being a social person is one thing, acting ignorant, arrogant and stuck up is something else.

Also for the people putting him on a pedestal for doing stuff for privateers. Let us be honest, talking with or about privateers is generating easy likable content from underdogs. The same does he when he goes along in bashing unpopular racers.

I've only "incidentally" met Steve twice.  Both times he was engaged with DC and I politely waited at a distance and did not intrude or interrupt because it was at the races and that's their job site.

When they finished with whatever they were talking about DC acknowledged me, stuck out his hand and we shot the shit like dudes do.  Steve on the other hand...acted like I was a maggot stealing his oxygen.  I could have read him wrong but my impression was that his self important attitude makes him kinda dickish.

If y'all actually know him personally and I'm way off base...tell me.  I'm not ashamed of being wrong.

He is a dick. Years ago at Hangtown I bought enough carne asada to feed an army. I invited any privateer and their families that wanted to eat it was on me. Sent out the invite back when Mototalk was around. Got some riders to show up and then Steve came. Guy was a complete asshole. I wouldn’t break a nickel to give him a penny if he was out of gas on the side of the road. Just a real prick.
